Villa Hills Ethics Board Chairman Resigns

The Martin Chronicles has just learned that Larry McGovern, the long-serving chairman of the Villa Hills Ethics Board, announced his resignation tonight.

We have independently confirmed that, based on a strong recommendation from the State Ethics Commission in Frankfort, multiple ethics complaints are headed to the Villa Hills Ethics Board related to Mayor Martin's misuse of public resources and employees to generate campaign literature for his property tax increase proposal.

We are still attempting to confirm if McGovern's resignation is linked to the pending ethics complaints against Martin.

One council member commented, "I hate to see Larry go, if for no other reason than Martin will actually get to appoint someone to the ethics board. What the heck does Martin know about ethics?"
