The Martin Chronicles applauds Villa Hills Police Chief Dan Goodenough and his officers for their public meeting at Thirs Landing earlier this week. The event was well-attended and a number of thoughtful questions were asked and answered. Our reporter tells us that while malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin was in attendance, he added bupkis and made no comment.
One observer quipped that Martin looked as nervous as a termite at an anteater convention. We wonder why? Hmmmm. Could it have been the 800-pound gorilla-in-the-room who everyone carefully avoided? You know. Martin's blockheaded refusal to hire an eighth police officer.
As one resident succinctly stated, "Martin can babble on about any number of nonsensical things. The five-sided octagon comes to mind. But when it comes to the important stuff, he's got nothing." That sums it up very, very well.
Who else was there? Current council members George Bruns, Greg Kilburn, Scott Ringo and Tim Sogar. Council candidates Rod Baehner and Amy Balson also attended. A great sign. Regrettably, the loathsome bilious blowhard County Boss Steve Arlinghaus was also there. Some speculate he was on hand in the event the skittish Martin needed help.
Not surprisingly, council candidates Dale Schaber, Mary Koenig, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger and Brian Wischer took a pass on the event. The word is they were meeting to discuss their upcoming campaign of LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION.
While we are on the subject of Martin's crime wave, the chairman of the Villa Hills chapter of the Skinheads- not surprisingly an adoring Martin supporter-has offered his Facebook suggestion for how to solve Villa Hills' massive crime wave. Hire more police? (EXPLETIVE) no! The Skinhead suggests giving every Villa Hillian a gun.
Rumor has it that the firearm-fanatic Martin-who himself threatened a council candidate with gun violence shortly before the 2010 election-likes the idea of everybody "gunning up" so much that he is going to announce a "GUNS FOR GRANNIES" campaign at the next council meeting. Outstanding!
Sources tell us that the Martinites think we are using "coded language" when we discuss their hero, The Little Man From Norwood. You know, like we are blowing a "dog whistle", speaking in a secret language to the Villa Hills Underground.
We know that paranoia is running rampant in Villa Hills right now. But rest assured. When we say we think Martin is "stupid", we mean he is well, uh, you know . . . "stupid". And when we say we believe Martin is "corrupt", that is exactly what we truly believe.

Time For The Facts
The Martin Chronicles sees turmoil on the horizon. It's not the impending rain generated by the remnants of Hurricane Isaac. It's the torrent of facts we believe are coming out shortly about the misconduct of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin.
It is time. The people of Villa Hills have a right to know that Martin is more than the incompetent little fellow who has decimated their police department, racked up shocking levels of red ink and mismanaged the road repair program to a dead stop. It is worse than that. Martin's wanton and reckless behavior-defying a direct order from a judge-has put the taxpayers in a dreadful position.
Martin has told LIE after LIE after LIE, desperately trying to portray himself as a victim. He has accused others of all manner of conspiracy targeting him. He claims everyone is out to get him, when in reality it is his dishonesty and incompetence that is his undoing.

Yes, It Is A BIG DEAL
The Martin Chronicles is watching the latest train wreck in Villa Hills City government and listening to the lies flowing yet again from malfeasant Mayor Martin as he desperately tries to cover his tracks. Despite affidavits contradicting his "version" of events, Martin claims that he wasn't even in the City Building when the latest batch of documents was destroyed.
His feckless flaks are trying to downplay the significance of the startling revelation of further document destruction at 720 Rogers Road. What's the big deal? So what if Martin was given a stern warning not to destroy anything else when Judge Patricia Summe handed The Little Man From Norwood his empty head on April 26? Judge Schmudge. It's just a witch hunt Interim City Clerk Sue Bree was just shredding some of her outdated recipe cards. The City doesn't deserve this. Martin goes to Haiti. Council is holding a grudge. BLAH. BLAH. BLAH. BLAH. BLAH.
People, you had better wake up and smell the rancid coffee Martin has been brewing for you for more than two years. Why is Martin's ongoing destruction of documents important? We'll tell you why.
FIRST- Insurance professionals are familiar with a term "intentional act". As we have reported, City Attorney Mike Duncan and attorneys from the City's insurance carrier (AND JUDGE SUMME) have strongly advised Martin and the City employees that no documents should be destroyed as long as Martin's LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit is in play. And, these legal beagles have issued that warning several times! So, either Martin or the blockheaded Interim City Clerk-or most likely both-have flagrantly ignored that warning and continued to destroy documents. That is a text book definition of an "intentional act". The City's insurance carrier could decide to take a walk. That would leave the TAXPAYERS TOTALLY EXPOSED. That is a BIG DEAL.
SECOND - A judge could decide that Martin's wanton and reckless ongoing destruction of City records has made it impossible for the plaintiff to effectively make his case for LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION against Martin. What could happen then? Legal folks call it "summary judgment". The judge could simply issue a ruling in favor of the plaintiff and-based on Martin's out-of-control actions-award an astronomical amount of money. Who gets hurt? The taxpayers.

The Truth Is Out There
The Martin Chronicles is a firm believer that the TRUTH is (already) out there. There have been some "mainstream" news outlets that have done a solid job of getting to the bottom of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's misconduct and mismanagement. WCPO would sit far atop the leader board of "mainstreamers" in our humble opinion. The Community Recorder would rank second and The Kentucky Enquirer a distant third. For the record, The Kentucky Enquirer is saddled with a hack headline writer obsessed with misidentifying Martin's malfeasance as "infighting" and "bickering".
Hello? Are you paying attention? There is no witch hunt. There is no conspiracy to "get" Martin. Nobody is holding any grudges-except perhaps for Martin's continued grudge against the police department. The TRUTH is that Martin is running an ILLEGAL HANDYMAN BUSINESS and has committed several counts of OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT. The TRUTH is that Martin doesn't tell the TRUTH. In fact, we aren't sure if he can separate TRUTH from HIS LIES anymore.

- Some people may actually feel sorry for Martin. They see this weaselly little guy stumbling, fumbling, mumbling and bumbling around crushing safes with a backhoes, burning and shredding truckloads of City records, wasting hundreds of thosuands of taxpayer dollars, triggering lawsuits and endorsing sexual harassment and all these big, mean councilmen are picking on him. There is a word for people who think like that. It's spelled S-T-U-P-I-D.

The Martin Chronicles can see this one coming from one hundred miles away. Villa Hills miscreant Mayor Mike Martin, $47.50 per hour, snout in the taxpayer-funded trough, clerk/bookkeeper Cordelia Schaber and various and sundry Facebook pinheads have telegraphed their dishonest theme for the 2012 City Council race. It is-not at all surprisingly-a colossal LIE. But in the current environment that this Martin LIE will be peddled, it may just work.
So, what FLAME-BROILED WHOPPER will Martin and his hillbilly lynchmob be serving up this time? All you have to do is read the WCPO.com online post explaining Martin's latest exhibition of flagrant disregard for the law.
Instead of explaining "WHY, WHY, WHY" witnesses maintain that Martin continues to destroy City records in defiance of Judge Patricia Summe's stern April 26 order to stop, Martin trots out that ridiculous bilious blowhard County Boss Steve Arlinghaus line, alleging that City Council is on "a witch hunt".
It gets better-and more outrageously DISHONEST. Martin goes on to say that "the current developments are tearing the City apart and residents don't deserve that." The statement itself is correct. But Martin is falsely portraying himself-yet again-as THE VICTIM when, in reality, he is THE PERPETRATOR of this entire mess.
When it comes to anything "Martin", the truth doesn't matter. Why should The Little Man From Norwood stop LYING now? His non-stop dissembling has carried him far-well beyond his intellectual and moral capacity to cope. He and his fanatical followers still haven't figured that part out.
Sources tell us that Martin and his morbidly obese hillbilly lynchmob are already waddling door-to-door pushing the "you don't deserve this" fable. These sources go on to predict that City Council candidates Dale Schaber, Mary Koening, Brian Wischer and Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger will parrot the same theme in an attempt to oust the four incumbents who have dared to challenge Martin's LAWBREAKING.

SATURDAY UPDATE: "I'm Not Perfect."
The Martin Chronicles was surprised by Villa Hills miscreant Mayor Mike Martin's shocking confession to WCPO that he isn't "perfect". OH NO!! ALERT THE CIVIC CLUB!! MAN BATTLE STATIONS!! HOW ABOUT THAT!!, TO THE BATCAVE!! HOLY (EXPLETIVE)!! STOP THE PRESSES!! GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST!!, CHEESE AND CRACKERS!!, DIAL 911!! WHAT THE (EXPLETIVE)?!?!? SAINT'S PRESERVE US!!, GO TO DEFCON 1!! And all of this time we thought The Little Man From Norwood was flawless.
Flawless as long as you set aside his perpetual lying, offical misconduct and incompetent mismanagement of all things City Government. And of course there is the contempt of court and his illegal business operations. But those are small issues. At least for the PRO-CRIME PINHEADS who display "Mayor Martin We Support You" signs in their yards and post hillbilly drivel on Facebook.
Martin's "I'm not perfect" comment echoes a ridiculous statement made by a long-time Villa Hills' peacenik who feebly offered up the same lame excuse for the mendacious mayor immediately following the April 30 Special Counsel presentation of the lengthy list of Martin wrongdoing. That jack(EXPLETIVE) and all those who think like him are the reason a person like Martin is able to perpetually get away with all manner of high crimes and misdemeanors.
Much like the fire and brimstone preacher who eventually gets caught up in a sex scandal with his pants around his ankles, Martin ran his 2010 dirtbag mayoral campaign on the (not-at-all-surprising) false premise that he was going to restore "truth and integrity" to the mayor's office. Martin launched personal attacks and made baseless allegations that are now being proven to be utterly false.
And then? Martin has been caught with his pants down around his ankles. He swivels to his right. He swivels to his left. He shuffles his papers. He taps his pen. He pushes his glasses up on top of his flat, little head. He clears his throat. He sputters that he wasn't even in the City Building.
His "two-raises-in-four-months" endlessly interim City Clerk Sue Bree spins a tale that she committed a gross violation of City Ethics Ordinances by misusing City shredders to dispose of her own personal documents. Her own words should lead to her immediate termination.

The Embargo Is Lifted
The Martin Chronicles has been sitting on the story of Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin's ongoing defiance of Judge Patricia Summe's order from the bench to cease destroying City records for weeks. But now that WCPO has revealed the content of sealed court documents, the time has come to take the story "off the spike".
The "formerly sealed" court records reveal that more shredded documents have been discovered on City property. This despite the fact that Judge Summe warned Martin that any further document destruction would be considered spoliation of evidence in a very serious LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit that Martin's dirtbag 2010 campaign brought down on the heads of the taxpayers.
One City employee provided an affidavit to investigators that alleges "that there has been document shredding the entire time. It has never stopped". If this is true, Martin has been acting in flagrant contempt of a court order. And, as Judge Summe plainly said from the bench, continues "to do great harm to the residents of Villa Hills".
Interim City Clerk Sue Bree claims that it was her personal documents that were shredded. Really? You don't say?
If Ms. Bree knew about any of this she should be fired today. Come to think of it, if she is so clueless that she didn't know any of this, she should be fired today. Sources tell us that Martin has given Ms. Bree two pay increases in the last few months. This while he was frantically begging council to dip into the City's dwindling cash reserves to the tune of $150,000. None of this passes the proverbial "smell test".
So what does Martin have to say about all of this? The Little Man From Norwood claims he wasn't in the City Building. Affidavits from two City employees dispute Martin's assertion. Given the endless stream of lies told by Martin, we know who we believe.
Oh, and Martin also repeats the bilious blowhard County Judge Steve Arlinghaus' emetic charge that the Special Counsel investigation is a "witch hunt". No surprise. As the old saying goes, "skunks of a feather flock together".

Lay Blame Where It Belongs
The Martin Chronicles is truly growing weary of all of the namby-pamby, hand-wringing, French-braiding, bed-wetting, fence-sitting, flute-playing, patty-caking, tu-tu wearing, tug-boating, limp-wristed, lily-livered, mealy-mouthed, corn-holing, night-sweating, faint-hearted, pusillanimous pussy-footers and other gutless geeks who are so concerned about propriety that they just won't come out and say it. Everybody knows who is DIRECTLY responsible for the MASSIVE CRIME WAVE that is sweeping the embattled and embarrassed town of Villa Hills. It is the mendacious Mayor Mike Martin.
Setting aside that the malfeasant Martin has been discovered to be the Misconductor-in-Chief for a brief moment, The Little Man From Norwood is also MASSIVELY INCOMPETENT. So he still thinks it is a good idea to continue with his retaliatory decimation of the Villa Hills Police Department? So he is going to continue to LIE, claiming that he is trying to save taxpayer money while the reality is six-figures of YOUR MONEY that is being squandered in unneccessary-AND HAZARDOUS FOR THE OFFICERS-overtime?
The voter's inexplicable 2010 dalliance with the dim-witted Martin ceased to be funny a long, long time ago. Not only isn't it funny, it's now DANGEROUS. Drug-addicted burglars are now conducting home invasions to steal money from YOU to pay for their fix. All the while, Martin is doing his shoddy-at-best imitation of Nero, fiddling around with his unlicensed handyman racket while YOUR town is being picked cleaner than the proverbial chicken's neck.

That's A Really Bright Idea
The Martin Chronicles continues to hear the gibberish that there are a significant number of people who plan to vote out any Villa Hills City Council incumbents just so that all of "the bickering" will stop. Never known to pull any punches, we say that is absolutely the second-most ridiculous idea we have heard around these parts. The most ridiculous idea? The one foisted by the mendacious Mayor Martin and his venal cronies that The Little Man From Norwood would somehow bring a refreshing change to City government.
While our message may fall on deaf ears, we are going to continue to repeat it again:
Well, the vexing voters think removing all obstacles to Martin's mismanagement and misconduct is a good idea?!?! Really? Is that a fact? Brothers and sisters, that is very foolish. But then a slim majority of these same voters elected Martin in the first place.
While our message may fall on deaf ears, we are going to continue to repeat it again:
- The disagreement between Martin and the council began even before the January, 2011 meeting when Martin LIED, saying he did have all of the required business licenses.
- The disagreement continued when Martin hired the wholly unqualified Cordelia Schaber to completely mangle the City's financial records as a contract employee without a contract!
- The disagreement worsened when Martin dopily sloughed off his wanton destruction of City property.
- The disagreement persisted when Martin mule-headedly refused to bring the police department to proper staffing levels. The current crime wave is all the proof required to reveal Martin for the pinhead that he is.
- The disagreement degraded when Martin LIED to council about his improper removal of taxpayer-funded computers from the City Building.
- The disagreement degenerated when council learned that Martin "saw no problem" with Councilman Jim Noll's alleged sexual harassment of a City employee.
- The disagreement caught fire when Martin was caught burning City records in the middle of a serious lawsuit. Martin made it worse by LYING to council several times about his document destruction. A judge later rebuked Martin, telling him that great harm was done to the residents of Villa Hills by his foolish-and potentially felonious-action.
- The disagreement was exacerbated when Martin frantically informed the council that his gross mismanagement of the budget required a $150,000 budget amendment. Why the red ink? Because Martin was desperately trying to save his "wife's(?) house".
- The disagreement will most likely go further south now because Martin has evidently repeated some past misconduct that prompted the City Attorney to order all paper shredders removed from the City Building. Gee, what happened this time?

Who Else Is Wondering?
The Martin Chronicles wonders if we are the only ones interested in why Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin, City Council members and a cadre of attorneys were in executive session for well over an hour during last week's Council meeting. Or, have the sluggish citizens of the embattled and embarrassed town been effectively propagandized by the miscreant Martin and his venal cronies in to believing that everything is attributable to "bickering"?
The Martin Chronicles also wonders if we are the only ones interested in knowing exactly what information was presented in executive session that renewed the call for a removal hearing for the misleading Martin. Or, have the drowsy residents bought the bogus spin that all of this turmoil is just the result of a massive conspiracy to "get" the meat-headed Martin? He goes to Haiti, after all.
The Martin Chronicles also wonders if we are the only ones wondering what in the wide, wide world of sports could be so (EXPLETIVE) serious that the City Attorney just had all of the paper shredders in the City Office at 720 Rogers Road REMOVED?!?! Or, have the sleepy townsfolk simply lapped up the civic club lies that people are just picking on the mismanaging Martin?
There were some great lines in The Martin Chronicles newsroom when this information was rounded up very early this morning. Our best investigative reporter quipped, "Taking the paper shredders out of the mangling Martin's City Building now is like putting a new battery in your smoke detector after your house has burned to the ground!" Another one of our very best reporters commented on this most recent, odd turn of events, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and all bets are off!"
The election is now just 77 days away. Despite all of the media reportage of Martin's mayhem, many people are still groping around in the dark. There are even people-albeit mostly clueless ones-who proudly display "Mayor Martin We Support You" signs in their yard.
Our biggest concern? That the vapid voters will invest no time to learn the truth about what Martin has done yet again, and simply vote for "Peace In Our Time".

"The Numbers Don't Make Sense."
The Martin Chronicles has had a CPA with a strong background in municipal accounting scrutinize several months of the City of Villa Hills financial statements. Their initial reaction, "The numbers don't make sense".
Not that we are surprised, but the sorry state of Villa Hills' financial statements serves as yet another example where miscreant Mayor Mike Martin's words ring hollow-and decidedly untrue. In his LIBELOUS April Unahandyman Manifesto, Martin ridiculously claimed that he "saved $15,000 by firing the City's accountant".
What has followed Martin's foolish move? A rising tide of red ink and bollixed financial reports. Under the dreadful Finance Committee chairmanship of departing-not-soon-enough Councilman Mike Pope, the reports have devolved into a twisted bag of nonsensical snakes.
The Martin Chronicles doesn't blame the City's auditors. They can only review what they are provided. And it would surprise no one if it is discovered that Martin and others were less than forthcoming during the annual audit. That has been their pattern with issue after issue after issue.
So do these nonsensical numbers reveal wrongdoing or just incompetence? Again, no one would be surprised to learn that the twisted reports are a glaring example of both.

"YOU JERK!"
The Martin Chronicles never thought it would get this bad. Before Martin's 2010 dirtbag mayoral campaign, we knew Martin was dishonest. We knew Martin was a non-stop dissembler. Heck, we even knew how incredibly stupid Martin was. Still, it has gotten far worse than in anything from our most terrible nightmare.
The most bizarre part? Martin has no clue how bad it is. We are convinced that this Norwood sewer rat is convinced he is doing a wonderful job. Martin lives in a delusional world where he is a lone crusader, battling against evil and corruption. The reality? It is Martin who is evil and corrupt.
But let's not get too negative. Not yet anyway. We'll save that up for if Dale Schaber, the hideous Mary Koening, Brian Wischer and Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger get elected on the "We're here to save Martin's pimply hind end" ticket. If the vapid voters surround Martin with those four it will be Gotterdammerung. For you armpit-scratching vine-swingers at that cesspool called a civic club, that means it will get really, really, really bad.
Speaking of the civic club, sources are telling us that the other seven decent candidates running for council are seriously considering boycotting any civic club candidate forum. Why? Because the 2010 affair was nothing more than a hillbilly hoedown stocked with Martin's redneck supporters designed to intimidate all of Martin's opponents. As one person put it, "We are hearing that the honest candidates are going to tell the civic club to go (EXPLETIVE) themselves this year." They should.
Speaking of people who should be told to go (EXPLETIVE) themselves, the Villa Hills City Attorney is a possible candidate. We looked at his bill to the Villa Hills taxpayers just for June. It was more than $10,300!!!! Of course it isn't really the City Attorney's fault. The billable hours are a direct result of Martin's mendacity. For anyone wondering, those shocking charges have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SPECIAL COUNSEL INVESTIGATION. All though we expect the malfeasant Martin and his morbidly obese hillbilly lynchmob to tell the vacuous voters that it does.
We left out an important- and hilarious-part of our report on the Martin "Don't go there! We aren't going to discuss it" police department exchange with Chief Goodenough and city council. As we told you, the room burst out in laughter when Martin dopily contradicted himself. But it gets even better. It happened right after Martin's stupid comment. A long-time Villa Hills resident shouted at Martin, "YOU JERK!" Priceless.

Koenig The Barbarian
The Martin Chronicles has Villa Hills City Council candidate Mary Koenig's number. And it's 666. The fact that she has reared her ugly head in support of the corrupt and incompetent Mayor Mike Martin should scare the (EXPLETIVE) out of every right-thinking resident. Koenig is a vile, vindictive, despicable person who, if elected, would take an already disastrous situation in Villa Hills City government and immediately make it far worse.
During Koenig's time on council in the '90's, she never met a tax increase or wild spending plan she wasn't enamored with.
It's the darndest thing. Clark did the firing. But Mary Koenig was the one who orchestrated it all. Sources have shown us e-mails from Koenig to Clark where the hideous councilwoman advised Clark to, "pick Corky's brain and then get rid of him".
This is the kind of loathesome person Koening is. And now Martin is desperately looking to her to help save his corrupt, pimply hide. Odd, isn't it? They deserve one another.

- Koenig wanted the taxpayers of Villa Hills to waste more than ONE MILLION DOLLARS on a swimming pool. The failure of many municipal pools all over the region prove just how wrong Koenig was.
- Koenig also wanted the taxpayers to give the City of Crescent Springs ANOTHER ONE MILLION DOLLARS to build their park in their town.
- Koenig wasted tens of thousands of dollars on engineering plans to basically "strip-mine" Franzen Field to turn it in to some kind of MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR sports complex.
- Sources tell us that Koenig used her council position to get the City's public works crew to build a retaining wall and plant a pine tree barrier on her private property. Illegal? Not likely. But it certainly calls her ethics into question.
- Koenig brought you the payroll tax, the insurance premium tax and always forcefully supported annual property tax increases to the maximum limit allowed by law.

Racing To The Bottom
The Martin Chronicles was fortunate to have reporters covering last night's Villa Hills City Council meeting as there was a SNAFU in the live cable feed. Brothers and sisters, the mismanaging, malfeasant Mayor Martin has created quite a mess. In fact, it is more than fair to describe the state of Villa Hills City Government as FUBAR.
At one point during the meeting Police Chief Dan Goodenough was explaining the tidal wave of burglaries and break-ins sweeping over the embattled and embarassed town that is a direct result of Martin's decimation of the police department. It has gotten so bad that burglars are even boldly walking into homes as residents are enjoying a morning cup of coffee and a cigarette at their kitchen table! Good morning Villa Hills!
Chief Goodenough was explaining that the department is operating with only five, over-worked, spread-way-too-thin officers. The Chief went on to explain that every time he attempts to discuss the need for additional officers with Martin, the mayor gets agitated and simply replies, "We aren't hiring anyone! Don't go there!"
Then a revealing moment. The mendacious Martin scolded Chief Goodenough, saying "that wasn't a fair statement". Safety is Martin's first priority after all.
Councilman George Bruns asked, "So then, Mayor, could you tell us why you won't hire anyone?" What did the mouth-breathing Martin say? Well, he immediately lapsed into his "We aren't hiring anyone! Don't go there!"
Everyone in the council chambers burst into laughter. But it really isn't funny.
But then there is Jimbo Noll. He is really, really, really funny. Noll and the emetic Mike Pope trumped up a phony reason to scold Greg Kilburn, falsely alleging that Mr. Kilburn was betraying something discussed in executive session by announcing that council was going to draw up charges and schedule a removal hearing for the malfeasant Martin.
Mr. Kilburn suggested that Noll is in no position to hurl accusations at others. Noll challenged Mr. Kilburn to explain what he meant. Noll was daring Kilburn to reveal what he knew. But because Mr. Kilburn is an ethical public servant who truly cares about the City, he declined to say something that would put the taxpayers in legal jeopardy.
The Martin Chronicles has no problem filling the nauseating Noll's request. Jimmy, you know what you are accused of. Assistant City Clerk Kimberly D. Robbins retained an attorney by the name of Barbara Bonar. Why? Because Ms. Robbins believes you have been sexually harassing her.
According to the documents we have reviewed, Ms. Robbins asked Mike Martin to intervene. She told Martin of the many times Noll came in to her office and sat down next to her. She told Martin of Noll's persistence in inviting her to lunch. She told Martin that Noll made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She asked Martin for help. His response? "I don't see a problem with any of this."
We have a suggestion. The next time you see Mike Pope, ask him about the 2011 City Christmas lunch. It was held after the City Attorney vainly attempted to get Noll under some semblance of control. Ask Pope about Noll's inappropriate comment to Ms. Robbins. What did Noll say to the woman who had already let Martin know about her concerns? "You have a sexy voice." We are told Pope was shocked. But not shocked enough to lift a finger to help Ms. Robbins.

The Race Is Set
The Martin Chronicles predicts quite a council election in Villa Hills this year. It will certainly be fun to watch and report on the crowded field. Who knows? A few decent candidates may actually win. Here is our initial "quick take" on the candidates. We have listed the candidates in alphabetical order. Much more to come.
1. Rod Baehner - Our sources tell us that Rod Baehner is a good guy. Described as bright and articulate and very concerned about the current direction of City Government. We look forward to learning more.
2. Amy Balson - A CPA who has demonstrated a sincere desire to help the City. An interesting candidate with a "good-government pedigree" deserving strong consideration.
3. George Bruns - Villa Hills "lifer". Loves the City. Longtime member of the volunteer fire department. Will be a target of Villa Hills Mayor Martin's hillbilly lynch mob for daring to question "The Little Man From Norwood".
4. Jim Cahill - Very community-minded. Gives endless hours to St. Joke's festival. CPA who has served on City Finance committee for nearly fifteen years. Some sources privately complain that Cahill has kept too quiet as Martin destroyed the City's finances. As one observer put it, "Martin is the ringleader. But Cahill has been driving the get-a-away car through his silence". Another potential shortcoming? Very reluctant to deal with conflict of any kind.
5. Greg Kilburn - Serious-minded and hard-working. A good community servant. The fact that he is "The Father of the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX" may make him vulnerable.
6. Mary Koenig - Her tenure on council in the '90's earned her a well-deserved, terrible reputation. She is described as mean-spirited and vindictive. The architect of the last "mayoral meltdown". Terrible candidate.
7. Holly Menninger-Isenhour - We have learned that Ms. Menninger grew up in Villa Hills. Some sources also say she is a Martinite who has been harshly critical of the decimated police department. If true, the City needs no more of that. We will continue to do our research.
8. Scott Ringo - Far and away the smartest candidate in the field. Excellent work for the fire authority and with recreation. But, he has not ignored Martin's mismanagement and malfeasance. Look for Martin's obese hillbilly lynchmob to spend many a day waddling door-to-door, portraying Mr. Ringo as "Public Enemy Number One".
9. Dale Schaber - Husband of the "snout in the taxpayer trough" Cordelia. Martin's co-defendant in a LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit. We'll have to get back to you on this one. We all just threw up in our mouths.
10. Tim Sogar - A very good guy who speaks his mind. No one can question Mr. Sogar's community spirit. Mr. Sogar has willingly taken on every assignment. But the fatties on Martin's sordid hillbilly lynch mob most certainly will. Why? Because, once again, Mr. Sogar declined to roll over in the face of Martin's mismanagement and corruption.

1. Rod Baehner - Our sources tell us that Rod Baehner is a good guy. Described as bright and articulate and very concerned about the current direction of City Government. We look forward to learning more.
2. Amy Balson - A CPA who has demonstrated a sincere desire to help the City. An interesting candidate with a "good-government pedigree" deserving strong consideration.
3. George Bruns - Villa Hills "lifer". Loves the City. Longtime member of the volunteer fire department. Will be a target of Villa Hills Mayor Martin's hillbilly lynch mob for daring to question "The Little Man From Norwood".
4. Jim Cahill - Very community-minded. Gives endless hours to St. Joke's festival. CPA who has served on City Finance committee for nearly fifteen years. Some sources privately complain that Cahill has kept too quiet as Martin destroyed the City's finances. As one observer put it, "Martin is the ringleader. But Cahill has been driving the get-a-away car through his silence". Another potential shortcoming? Very reluctant to deal with conflict of any kind.
5. Greg Kilburn - Serious-minded and hard-working. A good community servant. The fact that he is "The Father of the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX" may make him vulnerable.
6. Mary Koenig - Her tenure on council in the '90's earned her a well-deserved, terrible reputation. She is described as mean-spirited and vindictive. The architect of the last "mayoral meltdown". Terrible candidate.
7. Holly Menninger-Isenhour - We have learned that Ms. Menninger grew up in Villa Hills. Some sources also say she is a Martinite who has been harshly critical of the decimated police department. If true, the City needs no more of that. We will continue to do our research.
8. Scott Ringo - Far and away the smartest candidate in the field. Excellent work for the fire authority and with recreation. But, he has not ignored Martin's mismanagement and malfeasance. Look for Martin's obese hillbilly lynchmob to spend many a day waddling door-to-door, portraying Mr. Ringo as "Public Enemy Number One".
9. Dale Schaber - Husband of the "snout in the taxpayer trough" Cordelia. Martin's co-defendant in a LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit. We'll have to get back to you on this one. We all just threw up in our mouths.
10. Tim Sogar - A very good guy who speaks his mind. No one can question Mr. Sogar's community spirit. Mr. Sogar has willingly taken on every assignment. But the fatties on Martin's sordid hillbilly lynch mob most certainly will. Why? Because, once again, Mr. Sogar declined to roll over in the face of Martin's mismanagement and corruption.

But Villa Hills has clearly demonstrated that it's not your ordinary little burg! And the mismanaging, malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin has already taken to the dusty campaign trail.
Several sources tell us that Martin has begun his door-to-door calumny, urging the disengaged voters of that embattled and embarrassed city to vote for Martin's lawsuit co-defendant, Dale Schaber. Yeah, you know Dale Schaber. He's the husband of Cordelia "Cordie" Schaber. The woman who has her snout in the Villa Hills taxpayer trough to the tune of $47.50 per pointless hour. "Cordie", the befuddled bookkeeper who told us she resigned from her Villa Hills' crony job last November-but continues to be paid!

More On MARTIN'S CRIME WAVE
The Martin Chronicles reporters spent the last few days listening closely to Villa Hills public reaction to the huge surge in burglaries and other crime in Mayor Mike Martin's embattled and embarrassed town. Some opinions are disturbing and disappointing. But most of the feedback indicates that people are finally starting to wake up to the fact that Martin is-at best-thoroughly incompetent.
Martin has stubbornly refused to fully staff the police department. A careful review of council meeting DVDs shows that the mule-headed Martin offered a different reason for not properly staffing the department every single time council urged him to do so. No consistency. No logic. No sound judgment. The only Martin response that even came close to making a small amount of sense was when he blathered, "I'd rather pay a little overtime". A huge six-figure police overtime expense betrays how wrong Martin was about that.
So what was the disturbing and disappointing feedback? Some residents focused their anger on what they described as the police department's failure to stop the crime. While the department has certainly struggled to stem the rapidly rising tide of wrongdoing, they have done their best. The position Martin has put these professionals in is the equivalent of Martin giving his granite-headed interim city clerk a teaspoon and sending her to empty Franzen Lake.
Many people are saying that for the very first time they don't feel safe in Villa Hills. They worry that their home will be burglarized when they are at work. They are afraid to leave their windows open at night. They fret that even their locked cars aren't safe in their own driveways. This situation has exploded while the City is being managed by a buffoon who cynically told the voters that "safety is his first concern" during his 2010 dirtbag mayoral campaign.

Crime Surging In Villa Hills Again
The Martin Chronicles has a solid staff of investigative reporters and a bevy of reliable sources. And then sometimes-things jut fall into our lap! One of our reporters happened to be on a fifty-plus person email distribution list. The email stream our newshound received contained some real nuggets.
One email describes a surge of burglaries and car break-ins in Mayor Mike Martin's embattled and embarrassed Villa Hills. The burglars have been so bold that they are entering homes where the residents are home asleep. Perhaps the burglars are brazen because they know that the mendacious Martin has decimated the police department? The emailer certainly seems to think so.
The writer outlines Martin's persistent-and inexplicable-resistance to fully staff the struggling police department. The email's author explains that Councilmen Bruns, Kilburn, Ringo and Sogar have tried to strike a compromise with "The Little CEO" to rebuild the agency-but the malfeasant Martin simply will have none of it.
Reading the email reminds us that Martin's mauling of the police is not about cost savings. How do we know that? Because there was a whopping, six-figure mountain of police overtime expense last year. This despite the fact that Martin initially brushed off those who asked him to staff the force by flippantly saying, "I'd rather pay a little overtime". As with so many other things Martin has mismanaged over the past twenty months, that plan has failed miserably.
We strongly believe that Martin's abuse of the police department is a direct result of his embarrassment over being arrested for forgery. He should be embarrassed. But not just for his forgery arrest. He should be embarrassed for the mess he has made of Villa Hills City Government. But that would require a conscience.
The cyber-scribe ended the email with a perfectly pointed comment: For those citizens that voted thank you. For those of you who didn't-OH WELL. For those that voted Mayor Martin in office-using his own words "You are getting what you voted for".

Dale Schaber? Really?
The Martin Chronicles office is always a place for interesting discussions. When word came down that the leader of Martin's hillbilly lynch mob, Dale Schaber, filed to run for Villa Hills City Council one of those discussions took place between a veteran newshound and our perky young intern.
Intern: Martin crony Dale Schaber is running for city council?!?!?
Vet: Yep.
Intern: The same Dale Schaber who is Martin's co-defendant in the serious LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit that also includes the taxpayers?
Vet: Yep.
Intern: The same Dale Schaber who falsely accused people of breaking the law, going so far as to say, "IT IS A FACT"?

Big Numbers
The Martin Chronicles anticipates welcoming its' 50,000th unique visitor some time tomorrow! We'd be less than forthcoming if we didn't tell you how happy we are to continue to grow our loyal readership. Despite the fact that we are covering the sordid behavior of the dishonest Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin.
To celebrate, our publisher has secured an undisclosed, remote location to throw a huge party. Our entire staff will enjoy a gourmet cookout and open, fully-stocked bar! But that does not mean we won't still be covering the continuing drama in the embattled and embarrassed little city along the Ohio. Martin is up to no good every single day. We don't miss a thing!
While we are on the subject of big numbers that are in the tens of thousands, our publisher sent us an email, expanding on something we posted yesterday.
While it is clear that Martin has and continues to commit acts of misconduct that warrant his removal from office, the efforts to lay the entire truth of Martin's reckless and wrongful behavior before the public seem to be at a standstill.
I believe the public has the right to know the truth. I believe council has the duty to take a public position on where they stand on Martin's misconduct. They would do so by holding a removal hearing and taking a vote.
Furthermore, I strongly believe that if council does nothing further with the evidence of Martin's wrongdoing that has been compiled they are even doing a disservice to Martin. He deserves his day in court.
Tens of thousands of dollars have been spent on this investigation. I wholeheartedly believe council was right to move ahead. Martin's dangerous behavior has put the taxpayers at risk in many ways.
But to stop short means that every penny that has been spent was a waste.

Unahandyman Manifesto II??
The Martin Chronicles believes Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin tipped his dishonest hand at the July council meeting. Once again, Martin was revealed to be a liar during the slugfest that occurred in the final fifteen minutes of that meeting. "The Little Man From Norwood" was confronted about two of the many falsehoods contained in his now-infamous Unahandyman Manifesto. You may recall that Martin and his obese hillbilly lynch mob waddled door-to-door distributing that libelous letter last April.
So how did Martin tip his hand? At one point towards the end of the very heated discussion, an obviously-flustered Martin blurted out, "The residents are going to hear the truth!" Councilman Tim Sogar's coy reply was priceless, "They already have."
But what is this "truth" that Martin says the residents are going to hear? First of all, if it's coming from Martin, we know it won't be the truth. So then what will it be?
The Martin Chronicles is convinced that it will be a phony, full-scale attack on the incumbents-whether they are running for re-election or not-condemning them for wasting tens of thousands of dollars on a Special Counsel investigation that Martin will deceptively say "found nothing". Judging by the many lies Martin has told in the past about his legitimate forgery arrest and during his dirtbag mayoral campaign, "The Little CEO" is bound to say he has been "vindicated".
We predict Martin and his fat followers will once again hit the "tall tale trail", passing out Unahandyman Manifesto II literature proclaiming his innocence-and supporting the pernicious pinheads he hopes are elected to council on November 2.
Yes, we know. Martin will be lying. Again. But those brazen lies have worked in the past. Why shouldn't Martin dip into the same deceit one more time?
This was the guy who had his step-daughter sinisterly shilling for him at the 2010 Candidates Forum at the cesspool laughingly called a Civic Club. Misrepresenting herself as a Villa Hills resident, Martin's shameless step-daughter asked each candidate the same falsely-framed question, "What do you think of the violation of Mike Martin's constitutional rights?"
Confronted with a room full of Martinesque illiterate hillbillies, ridge-runners and rubes, each candidate had to squirm and dance around the question to avoid being lynched. It was disgusting. It was repulsive. It was filthy. It was nauseating. It was sordid. Well, it was Martin after all.
Oddly, The Martin Chronicles does agree that if city council remains frozen in place, without even a thorough and very public explanation of why they aren't pressing ahead with a removal hearing for the miscreant Martin, the money they have spent on the Special Counsel has been wasted.
Even still, that makes Martin no less a skunk.

He Has No Idea
The Martin Chronicles wonders if Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin has "clue one" about how much damage Cordelia Schaber did to his "Reign of Error" when she took to the podium at the July council meeting? Given Martin's low-voltage brain waves, we seriously doubt it.
First, if Ms. Schaber truly tendered her resignation in November, 2011-as she claims she did-why did the taxpayers cover at least five paychecks to her since November at a rate of $47.50 per hour?
Second, seeing Ms. Schaber at the podium reminded us of Martin's ridiculous claim that he saved the City $15,000 by firing the accountant and hiring his pal Cordie! How do we know the claim is ridiculous? Because by Martin's own frenzied admission, the City has been swimming in a churning sea of red ink ever since he foolishly made that move.
Lastly, Ms. Schaber pulled off a very difficult assignment by appearing to be simultaneously arrogant and clueless during her time at the podium. She reminded people exactly why there is a growing dislike for Martin and his circle of cronies. It didn't take long after Martin took his oath of office for those cronies to swarm in to stick their snouts in the taxpayer-funded trough.

Weekend Wrap
The Martin Chronicles reminds you that we will all know who the field of Villa Hills City Council will be in only ten days. Rumors are flying around the embattled city. We know Jim Noll is gone-and we thank God for that. We will soon know which other incumbents have had their fill of dealing with the corrupt and incompetent Mayor Martin.

Babbling Brook
The Martin Chronicles recommends you go back and watch the final 15 minutes of the July 18 Villa Hills City Council meeting by checking out the Video On Demand section of www.tbnk.org. Mayor (and miscreant) Mike Martin is called out for two of the many libelous lies he wrote in his April "Note To Villa Hills Residents", a.k.a. Unahandyman Manifesto.
When Martin's lies are flowing free and easy he is a happy customer-as long as he isn't challenged. He was strongly challenged at the July council meeting. He quickly transformed from his "Hey, I'm a good guy who goes to Haiti and will unclog your toilet real cheap, hee-hee" persona into the petulant, red-faced, paper-shuffling, stuttering "I'm the CEO. I stand by my story despite the fact that all the evidence proves its a lie. We aren't going to discuss it any more."
First, Martin was hammered for falsely writing that when he ascended to his throne he discovered that the Police Department Office's electric bills had not been paid for three years! Why is that a lie? Because Duke Energy hadn't sent one bill over those three years! The error was entirely Duke Energy's. But that reality doesn't fit Martin's dishonest attempt to falsely portray that, much like cartoon hero Mighty Mouse, Martin flew in to save the day.
Then Martin's libelous lie that "files on the hard drive of my computer had been erased on December 27, 2010" This written in the context that the previous administration was so mean to him, refusing to make his transition to power a smooth one. The problem? Several open records attempts failed to turn up any computer forensics report that back-up Martin's calumnious claim. The biggest problem? Martin has recklessly accused a private citizen of committing a crime. Martin's claims and babbling explanation have left the taxpayers wide open to another serious LIBEL LAWSUIT.
The good news for Martin? He had his two staunchest supporters in the audience. Who are they? Dale and Cordelia Schaber. Yeah, we know. Dale is the co-defendant in the LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit filed against Martin and the taxpayers about a year ago. Yup. We realize it. Martin is funneling $47.50 per hour of your tax dollars to Cordelia-despite the fact that she claims she resigned last November-to mangle the City's books. So we guess they are all stuck with each other.
Kind of like we are all stuck with Martin. At least for awhile.

Politically Motivated???
The Martin Chronicles scratches its' collective head whenever we hear some pinhead say that the Special Counsel investigation into Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin's mountain of misconduct is "politically motivated". Seriously? You gotta be kidding. While it is the standard defense blathered by the meatheads at that cesspool called a Civic Club and by Martin's obese hillbilly lynch mob, it makes absolutely no sense.
The "politically motivated" thing for the majority of council to do would have been absolutely nothing. How much easier would their lives be now? They wouldn't have to listen to the mouth-breathers and morons who defend the indefensible Martin. They wouldn't have to hear the wailing and teeth-gnashing of the hand-wringing bed-wetters They wouldn't have to wonder why so many people continue to sit cluelessly on their hands.
The smooth path would have been to ignore all of Martin's mendacity, misconduct and malfeasance and to focus on the work of their respective committees. So easy. So peaceful. So dangerous for the City and its taxpayers.

Hump Day Deliberations
The Martin Chronicles has more questions about the mess Mayor Mike Martin is making in Villa Hills that we are having a little trouble answering. But that will not stop us from getting to the whole truth. These questions have arisen as our reporters continue to dig into a number of stories.
For example, we continue to be troubled by the suspicious timing of the pay raise Martin gave to the endlessly interim City Clerk. Just think about it. Martin gave a pay raise to someone at the same time that he was pleading with City Council to approve a six-figure budget amendment to cover his over-spending. It simply doesn't make sense.
Making Martin's "pay-raise play" even more confounding is that he was also doing it at the same time he was advising council that he may be forced to lay-off half of the City staff. For Martin to give someone a pay raise at the same time that he announces plans to possibly cut loose half of the City employees due to his own abject budget mismanagement is absolutely astonishing. It just doesn't make a darn bit of sense.
Unless of course the speculation surrounding Martin's "pay-raise play" is true. Remember?
