The Martin Chronicles knows full well that Villa Hills needs a new mayor. The malfeasant Mike Martin has been an incompetent and corrupt disaster. The tiny tyrant clearly needs to get his "pink slip" from the voters on November 4. Even though that is an obvious fact, the results of the coming mayoral election are still very much in doubt.
That isn't where this unfolding story ends. Villa Hills is also going to have a very different council come January 1, 2015. Three solid councilmembers decided not to run for re-election this year. We have learned that at least some of each councilmembers' decision not to run again resulted from deep frustration over Martin's perpetual unwillingness to work with them.
So, tonight's candidate event at Villa Madonna was very important. This event represented the only legitimate opportunity to see the council candidates in an unfiltered, non-spun way. No Martin-style lies. No hiding behind an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper full of bull$#!t. No rumor-mongering by civic club ass clowns. No " I huuuuuuurd's from Martin's Kool Aid drinkers and opinionated haters".
So, here are the council candidates who think enough of the voters to answer their questions in an open forum: Scott Ringo; Greg Kilburn; George Bruns and Gary Waugaman.
And, here are the council candidates who must believe that the voters don't deserve an opportunity to learn more about their positions on the important issues facing Villa Hills: Mary Koenig, Brian Wischer, Dave Hilgeford, Summer Berger and Jennifer Vaden.
Here is the best question of the night. "Why aren't the other council candidates here?" We have the answer.
Because they are gutless, mean-spirited cowards who hope the voters are stupid.
