WEEKENDER: "Scorched Earth"?

The Martin Chronicles is hearing from numerous, well-placed sources who are telling us that Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin is very upset about the large number of Villa Hills residents who are telling the diminutive dictator "no thanks" when he asks for their support once again in 2014. Evidently, Martin is quite surprised by former allies who have now decided to support one of his three opponents instead.

Oh, it is no surprise to us. Most of these folks bought in to Martin's endless stream of lies in 2010. They were largely responsible for his razor-thin victory that year. But, they are now examples of "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". And as the classic British band The Who once sang, these residents are saying "We Won't Get Fooled Again".

So, Martin finds himself with fewer tools in his calumnious campaign box. We fully expect the little liar to launch a final push of once-again false allegations against his three mayoral opponents on the final weekend of the campaign. Martin will cling to the hope that the voters will hold their noses and vote for Martin, thinking that he is terrible, but his opponents are even worse.

But, other sources tell us that various "concerned citizens' groups" plan to counter-act Martin's lies with a steady dose of the truth about the tiny tyrant on that final weekend:

• Voters will be reminded that Martin signed the city purchase order that put more than TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND TAXPAYER DOLLARS in to his own crooked pocket.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin lied to their faces when he FALSELY told them that former Police Chief Dan Goodenough was "just taking a few days off".
• Voters will be reminded that Martin was CONVICTED ON SEVEN OF NINE COUNTS OF OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT AND NEGLECT OF DUTY.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin signed an Executive Order in to law that gave the miniature mullah SWEEPING POWERS TO ARREST ANY RESIDENT WHO DISAGREES WITH HIM AT A PUBLIC MEETING.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin has demonstrably proven himself completely UNABLE TO WORK WITH ANYONE ON CITY COUNCIL.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin hired his own personal attorney to serve as the TAXPAYER-FUNDED CITY ATTORNEY. (Toad V. McMurtry of Gerner & Kerns)
• Voters will be reminded that Martin has squandered MORE THAN FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND TAXPAYER DOLLARS ON LAWYERS AND LEGAL FEES.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin received a REMRIMAND FROM THE VILLA HILLS ETHICS BOARD FOR MISUSE OF CITY PERSONNEL AND RESOURCES.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin's reckless actions have GENERATED FIVE MORE LAWSUITS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY COST THE TAXPAYERS MORE THAN ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin callously disregarded a STINGING REBUKE FROM A JUDGE WARNING HIM TO CEASE AND DESIST HIS ILLEGAL DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin HAS RAISED THEIR TAXES.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin HAS ACTUALLY OVER-SPENT THE CITY BUDGET EVERY SINGLE YEAR OF HIS TERRIBLE ADMINISTRATION.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin has COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE CITY'S ROAD REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROGRAM.
• Voters will be reminded that Martin just misspent A HUGE AMOUNT OF TAXPAYER MONEY TO SEND OUT A POLITICAL PROPAGANDA PIECE.

Martin is about to face something he has never been able to deal with. Exactly what is that? Well, most people would call it THE TRUTH.

The voting begins in less than 24 days.
