Additional Explanation

The Martin Chronicles may have overlooked the fact that there has been a great deal of turnover in the population of Villa Hills since Mary Koenig first appeared on the public scene in 1989. We have been receiving dozens of phone calls and emails since we posted the Facebook exchange between Mary Koenig and Donna Clark.

While everyone understood the twisted nature of Koenig's oddly casual "lunch?" reply, many did not know Donna Clark. So, we need to explain.
  • Mary Koenig chose Steve Clark to run for mayor-and serve as her human shield fall guy for her campaign against the Villa Hills Police Department-in 1998.
  • Donna Clark is Steve Clark's ex-wife. She was the third part of the Clark-Koenig-Clark regime, frequently doing the trio's dirty work.
  • At Koenig's prompting, Steve Clark fired Villa Hills Police Chief Corky Brown (and doesn't that have an eerily familiar ring to it?) in December, 2000. A huge public outcry ensued and Clark resigned from office about three months after Brown's firing.
  • It is apparent from the Facebook exchange that Donna Clark remains unaware that Koenig cleverly used both her and her ex-husband all those years ago.
Interestingly, current council candidate Jennifer Yost-Vaden resides in the Clark's former home. Current council candidate Summer Berger is Vaden's neighbor. In point of fact, that little strip of Wesley seems to be "ground zero" for malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's fanatical support.

Is there something about that section of Wesley Drive that prompts people to participate in Koenig's perpetual schemes? Is there something about that small cluster of homes that encourages support for Martin's last four years of mindless mayhem?

We'll see if the voters believe so on November 4.
