The Martin Chronicles' entire staff has been pursuing an unfolding story. Our chase began when we received a cryptic message telling us that "Martin has fired Goodenough". We have been working all of our sources to sort out the wheat from the chaff from this initial scoop and all that has followed.
As fate often has it, one of our reporters was enjoying a rare night off to attend the local high school basketball tournament games being held at The Bank of Kentucky Arena Wednesday evening. While standing in line to purchase a drink and a couple of hot dogs, our reporter happened to be in line next to Police Chief Dan Goodenough and another man.
Always on the job, our reporter listened intently as Chief Goodenough said to the other man, "Well, I hope this shows all of Martin's supporters that they are getting exactly what they deserve". True enough.
The Martin Chronicles sincerely hopes that this most recent mayhem in Martinworld gives people like the chubby, little fellow (EDDIE) who LIED to either the police or the Special Counsel to save Martin's bacon during the diminutive dictator's 2012 removal hearing, his nitwit wife who later took to a podium to defend the malevolent Martin by declaring that "this mayor does great things for people" and all the voters who threw out the previous council who served as the only defense against Martin's lawlessness pause to reconsider their foolishness.
It appears that Martin suspended Villa Hills Police Chief Dan Goodenough without pay sometime either late Tuesday or Wednesday. Martin has also appointed an "interim" police chief. Why? Well, we are still digging in to that. we suspect that Martin intends to bypass the City's Civil Service Board and go directly to his mostly-supplicant City Council to present his "rationale" for terminating Chief Goodenough.
Martin's "worst case"? He gets his-always-in-his-back-pocket-votes from Koenig, Isenhour-Menninger and Wischer and breaks the tie himself to fire Chief Goodenough. But don't be the least bit surprised if the wimpy Jim Cahill votes with those four drones to terminate the Chief.
Why might the wimpy Cahill very well do that? The wimpy Cahill will meekly say that "it's the mayor's prerogative to hire and fire". Sure, Jimmy.
So, many people are wondering via email and phone call why Martin would take such an inflammatory step now? After all, this reduces the already decimated police department down to only five officers. What the heck? Is Martin crazy?
Well, of course Martin is crazy. But think about it. Its an election year. Let's face it. Martin has made a total mess of everything and faces an uphill climb to keep his undeserving rump plopped in the mayor's office.
Just like every failing Fuhrer, Martin desperately needs scapegoats. So why not choose people like former Assistant Police Chief Joe Schutzman and-very-soon-to-be-former-Police Chief Dan Goodenough?
It's an election year. Martin has fu(%ed-up everything. Why not find someone else to blame for overtime waste, the scathing State Auditor report that revealed Martin's abject mismanagement of the TAXPAYER'S MONEY and the ILLEGAL DESTRUCTION of City documents, for instance? No doubt, this is part of Martin's pernicious plan for terminating Chief Goodenough. Martin has made his entire crummy political career out of blaming someone else for his obvious shortcomings.
Why might we believe this? Remember the specious allegations that Martin's personal-and now TAXPAYER-FUNDED-City Attorney Toad V. McMurtry made during Martin's 2012 removal hearing? McMurtry accused Goodenough of "unethical behavior" and chided the Chief for not advising the mallet-headed Martin that he was not allowed to break the law.
What McMurtry did during Martin's 2012 removal hearing was a shocking disgrace fueled by the LIES Martin had told him. The pay-off? McMurtry is now making a TAXPAYER-FUNDED FORTUNE defending the indefensible Martin.
So here we are. Martin has taken the next step in his vendetta over his 2007 FORGERY ARREST. This despite the fact that four respected judges have already ruled that what Martin was doing FIT THE VERY DEFINITION OF FORGERY.
Dan Goodenough is a very good man-unlike the malevolent Martin. Dan Goodenough is a Northern Kentucky kid who grew up in a close-knit family and has devoted his entire life to public service. Dan Goodenough is a Marine Corps veteran who proudly served his country. Dan Goodenough has served the people of Villa Hills since the mid-1980's. Dan Goodenough started the DARE Program in Villa Hills and has spent countless hours helping the underprivileged children of this area.
Martin is a Norwood ne'er do well who has done nothing but LIE. Martin has done little else but LIE about several hard-working public servants. Martin LIED his way to the mayor's office and immediately began to destroy the once-respected Villa Hills Police Department because he will be forevermore sore about his JUSTIFIED 2007 FORGERY ARREST.
The Martin Chronicles supports Police Chief Dan Goodenough.
