Notable Numbers

The Martin Chronicles entire staff is almost completely worn out covering the turmoil of the last ten days surrounding Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's dastardly efforts to fire long-serving Villa Hills Police Chief Dan Goodenough. Not to worry. We are all feeling that "second wind" coming as we head towards that looming day when the malevolent Martin's mostly-supplicant "golden moment" council will decide Chief Goodenough's fate.

Have you seen the January City of Villa Hills financial report? Boy howdy, you will certainly see a notable number there. Legal fees already reached $105,000 at that point in time. The miscreant Martin refuses to tell the taxpayers how many taxpayer-funded attorneys have their snouts in the taxpayers' trough. Any way you slice that taxpayer-funded pie, it is an astonishing waste of money.

It is worth noting that the shocking $105,000 figure does not include billable hours being racked up by the mendacious Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate firm Gerner and Kearns) for the railroading of Chief Goodenough. Just think where legal fees are heading with the pending dismissal hearing for the Chief. Yipes!

Want more notable numbers? How safe do you feel knowing that the Villa Hills Police Department is now reduced to just 5 officers. Yes, those 5 officers are all dedicated professionals who will do their duty and do it to the best of their abilities. But they can only offer 200 regular work hours to cover the 168 hours of a week. What about shift changes? What about court? What about vacation time? What about training?

Sure, Martin assured the media that "all of the shifts are covered". But remember that Martin also assured that same media just a few days ago that Chief Goodenough was simply "taking a few days off". We now know what a LIE that was.

One local pundit claims that Martin will use his patented excuse for all of his foul-ups, bleeps and blunders when confronted about that LIE. What will the misdirecting Martin say? "I didn't know that I was firing Chief Goodenough THEN. But I know it NOW."

How about some more notable numbers about the Villa Hills Police Department? Michael "Corky" Brown was hired to serve as the first full-time police chief for that rapidly-growing City in 1984. Over most of the next 20 years, Brown and the officers he hired helped create one of the most respected police departments in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Chief Brown hired a young man named Dan Goodenough 27 years ago. Goodenough rose through the ranks to become Sergeant. Then his talents, hard work and dedication to the community as exemplified by his work on DARE, Shop With A Cop, babysitting classes and his non-stop assistance to the River Ridge Resource Center earned him a promotion to Lieutenant.

When Brown retired from his position as Chief in 2004, Goodenough was named Chief by Martin's predecessor. Chief Goodenough provided 10 more years of exemplary service. It has only taken Martin a little more than 3 years to totally destroy all of that. All because Martin will be forever more hateful about his 2007 FORGERY ARREST.

Here are more notable numbers. Back in October, 2012-during Martin's well-deserved removal hearing-former frequent Facebook posters used to accuse WCPO Channel 9 of being "biased" against the mallet-headed Martin. My, have times changed. Now reporters from not only WCPO Channel 9, but reporters from WLW-T Channel 5, WKRC Channel 12 and FOX19 have finally realized-and accurately reported-what a LYING SKUNK Martin truly is.

While we are at it, Martin was CONVICTED ON 7 OF 9 COUNTS OF OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT AND NEGLECT OF DUTY during that October, 2012 removal hearing.
Only the inexplicable SELL-OUT of former Councilmembers Mike Pope and Jim Noll left Martin's unworthy butt in office to continue his rampant lawlessness and abject mismanagement.

We have been so busy that we missed another major milestone in our readership. Our pesky little blog welcomed its 200,000th visitor a couple of days ago and has already shot several thousand visits past that notable number. Our beloved publisher continues to be amazed by the size of the audience for a blog that covers a City only 3.5 square miles in size. Thank you.

But what about the most important notable number? If you don't know what that is, The Martin Chronicles is at least a little bit worried about you. Here it is.

There are 234 days until Election Day, 2014.
