News and Notes

The Martin Chronicles is going to hit some of the highlights-and one extremely low-lowlight of the past few days in malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's Villa Hills. One item is an important announcement. One item should make you chuckle a little. One item should make you angry.

First, the Sensible Citizens Group has announced the second public meeting of their fledgling organization. It will be held this Friday, April 4, at the Madonna Manor Community Center beginning at 7pm.

The first stated goal for this Friday's meeting? Here you go:

"Our first goal is to begin work on finding and then encouraging some civic minded individuals to get involved and run for election this fall. We must have some solid choices to choose from. We cannot waste time worrying about what has happened in the past in our city. We all already know why, and need to prevent it in the future."

Our beloved publisher reminded us all earlier today that the month of April is perfect for the start of the concerned citizens groups' primary goal for this meeting. Why? Because America's Revolutionary War against the tyranny of King George III began in April, 1775. What better time to begin the effort to end the tyranny of King Mike I than April, 2014? Fortunately, the tyranny can end with ballots-not bullets-this time around.

We hope many new residents can attend this meeting.

Second, The Martin Chronicles has been reading the scathing comments about the malevolent Martin's vindictive railroading of former Police Chief Dan Goodenough on the social networks. To say that Martin is taking a tremendous beating is a massive understatement. That's okay. The misdirecting Martin has earned the pounding. And probably a whole lot more.

We do have a favorite kick to Martin's crotch that we just have to share:

(Name withheld as not to be responsible for any redneck reprisals from Martin's hillbilly lynchmob): "Let me guess. I'm sure the first candidate will be a crony of Mayor Martin. By the way Cincinnati.com, thanks for the dartboard picture." A true CLASSIC!

Third, the disturbing stuff. Sources tell us that the mallet-headed Martin has been spending a lot of time-and his own money-shoring up his dwindling base at that cesspool called a civic club.

How? We are hearing that the tiny tyrant is buying drink after drink for his dwindling loyalists at the bar. We are being told that these civic club ass clowns are exchanging "high fives" for the Martin-funded "high balls" in celebration of Martin's disgraceful treatment of former Police Chief Dan Goodenough. As Jed Clampett might say, the behavior of these dim-witted ass hats is "lower than a snake's belly in a wagon wheel rut. Pitiful, pitiful, pitiful."

Oh, lest we forget. Just in case you need a copy of your very own "dartboard picture".

Segmentation

The Martin Chronicles was sitting around our offices Sunday kicking around how most of the folks in malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's embattled burg of Villa Hills are feeling right about now. Our guess? It's a mixed bag.

First of all, there are still some Kool-Aid drinking, die-way-too-hard Martinites left in the troubled town. Sure, they would qualify for protection under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. But they are most certainly still around. As proof, we offer in to evidence the demented, social network ramblings of a self-employed life coach who recently heralded the malevolent Martin's very-costly-to-the-taxpayers railroading of former, long-serving Police Chief Dan Goodenough.

Secondly, there will-and shall be forevermore-those residents who wallow in their blissful ignorance. Fortunately, most of these yahoos rarely vote. They don't even know that Villa Hills has a mayor or City Council. Or, that Villa Hills used to have a Police Chief. They haven't seen the embarrassing media stories about the once-proud City in which they reside. Our hope? That most of these yahoos continue to stay home on November 4th's Election Day.

Thirdly, there are the former Martinites. These reformed Kool-Aid drinkers are a wonder to behold. They have evolved from people who raved about the nice little (albeit, DISHONEST) fellow who just needed a chance to show what he could really do to rabid revolutionaries waving signs demanding the retention of the now-former Police Chief at recent disciplinary hearings. Sure, we find them amusing as hell. But we also welcome their energy to the party that is about to begin.

Fourthly, there are the single-issue citizens who decided to cast their lot with Martin because he promised to get rid of their neighbor's excessive cat population (clearly proving they don't understand the true impact of local elections) and those who bought Martin's BOLD FACED LIE when he FALSELY promised to repeal the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX. We don't give a tinker's dam about the nitwits in the former category. But, we hope the folks in the latter category now finally realize-as they continue to pay the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX-that Martin is a FILTHTY LIAR.

Fifthly, there are those who are simply concerned about appearances. These people decided to hope against hope and swallow Martin's and his hillbilly lynchmob's 2012 exhortation that all the tiny tyrant needed was a whole new council to show what he could really do. Well, these people were right in a terrible way. How so? Martin used the results of the landslide 2012 election these people handed him to hire his own personal attorney to serve as the City Attorney, unleash a tidal wave of intimidation and threats and complete his vendetta against the Villa Hills Police Department. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

Sixthly, there are a large number of residents who have known from the beginning that Martin is nothing more than very bad news. They have know that Martin is a DISHONEST, unlicensed handyman who did commit FORGERY in 2007 because he did sign his deceased mother's name on his deceased mother's checks, cashed them and pocketed the proceeds. These are the people who know Martin is nothing more than a LIAR. They can rally enough of the previous groups to send Martin to the ash heap of history.

These are the people who can make the real difference on November 4.

Watch Your Backside!

The Martin Chronicles staff just finished digesting the recent pap published on Cincinnati.com written by the supplicant, sappy Stephanie Salmons, entitled "Villa Hills begins search for new police chief". Remember that this stupid article was published immediately following Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's disgraceful railroading of long-serving Police Chief Dan Goodenough.

Let's examine the very weird, oddly-revealing, almost perverted quotes offered-up by the malevolent Martin. What did the misspent Martin say? "I'm looking for a marriage."... "Someone who understands we are a bedroom community."

Really? Is that right? You don't say? Is that a fact? Boy howdy.

You see, the abnormal Martin has inadvertently revealed that he wants his new Chief to understand that he or she  is going to be someone who is going to be screwed at the earliest, convenient opportunity. Typical miscreant Martin, to be sure.

So, if you are a supplicant applicant who wants to be blamed for each and every screw-up by the misdirecting Martin, jump on board! Uncle Martin desperately needs you! Otherwise, steer the hell clear.

How best to say it? Martin sucks. And he needs to go on November 4.

219 days and counting.

WEEKENDER: Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick II

The Martin Chronicles is beginning to sense it. The time is growing ever nearer. If the upcoming election in malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's Villa Hills was the seventh game of the NBA Championship, the houselights would now be dimming and the haunting strains of  the Alan Parson's Project song "Sirius" would be reverberating through the arena as the announcer prepares to call the names of the competitors.

Do you see where we're heading? Sure you do. The election that will decide the future course of the troubled town along the banks of the Ohio is just about to begin. This election campaign should prove to be one of the most exciting in awhile. We can't wait to cover it.

Sure, we hear the public fretting of those folks who worry that the misdirecting Martin will now begin to act on his behavior and prepare to fool us yet again on November 4. But the mendacious Martin is now a "very well-scouted opponent". The Martin Chronicles now knows Martin's deceptive moves. So does the voting public. Best yet, so will Martin's opponent.

It isn't now what it once was. Martin ran as a phony good government outsider-zealot in 2010, making FALSE proclamations about the unnecessary need for transparency, cooperation, honesty and integrity in the mayor's office. You see, all of those things were already there.

But Martin's election did bring change. All of you have seen it first hand. You have seen Martin's cover-ups of everything from ILLEGAL DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS to HIS PROFLIGATE WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY ON LAWYERS AND LEGAL FEES PURSUING HIS PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT.

You heard for yourself Martin's dictatorial edicts that he was "the CEO", that all of the decisions were his and his alone and that if you didn't like it, you'd simply have to "get over it" because he was "moving on".

You heard for yourself the media reports about Martin's intimidation, harassment of and threats to City employees. You've heard for yourself the media reports of Martin's signing of Executive Orders granting himself the unprecedented power to have dissidents ARRESTED.

You have seen his ABJECT INABILITY TO WORK WITH HIS FIRST CITY COUNCIL. Then, after Martin and his hillbilly lynchmob DUPED desperate voters in to surrounding the tiny tyrant with an entirely new council in 2012, you have all witnessed Martin's ABJECT INABILITY TO WORK WITH THE NEW COUNCIL.

You watched as Martin forced through that new council the hiring of his personal attorney to serve as the controversial City Attorney. The results of that move has cost the taxpayers a SHOCKING FORTUNE.

Most recently? You all watched Martin DISHONESTLY tell the media that now-former Police Chief Dan Goodenough was simply "taking a few days off" immediately followed by an ugly, VERY COSTLY public spectacle of two rounds of dismissal hearings for the police chief. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

But consider this. The mallet-headed Martin is rapidly running out of time:
  • There are only 137 days remaining from this Saturday until the candidate filing deadline for Villa Hills November 4 Election Day.
  • That is only 3,288 hours from this Saturday.
  • That is only 197,280 minutes from this Saturday.
  • That is only 11,836,800 seconds from this Saturday.
  • That is only 4 more City Council meetings from this Saturday.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.

Attorney Fees Are "Sensitive" Alright!

The Martin Chronicles watched malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin pull his usual flim-flam routine at this week's Council meeting. Martin feebly-and dishonestly-tried to explain that Villa Hills so-called "financial reports" are being redacted-(READ: "misrepresented")-because some of the information contained in them is "sensitive".

Seriously? Martin really believes that the taxpayers of Villa Hills don't have the absolute right to see every single dime of their money Martin is squandering? That's a ridiculous assertion that serves as more evidence of Martin's rampant mismanagement and corruption.

Everyone who is paying attention knows that Martin and his council cronies are simply trying to hide the full extent of the taxpayer money the diminutive dictator is wasting, mostly-but not all-on outrageous legal fees. Why? Because it's an election year. Even the mallet-headed Martin realizes that a majority of residents are already dismayed by the money he is throwing away on legal fees.

Martin realizes that the residents of his once-proud City would be very upset by the fact that-in a very short period of time-his personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) has billed the taxpayers SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS on "code enforcement matters". How can Martin defend that? He doesn't plan to. Instead, he simply chooses to hide it from the taxpayers, saying that the information is "sensitive".

Let's just consider Martin's latest misadventure, the railroading of long-serving Police Chief Dan Goodenough. Keep in mind that even after Martin and his personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) sat down with the former Villa Hills Police Chief and presented him with the impossible choice of either retiring, giving up his First Amendment rights and his ability to ever seek employment in Villa Hills ever again or of facing the wrath of the mendacious Martin's fraudulent "mud machine", Martin continued to LIE, claiming that Goodenough was simply "taking a few days off".

Remember that Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) had already been spending a large amount of billable taxpayer-funded time "investigating" the State Auditor's report that was allegedly triggered by an "anonymous letter" from an equally-allegedly concerned citizen. How do we know that McMurtry's taxpayer-funded investigation of the State Auditor's report was underway? Because the vile councilwoman Mary Koenig and her incredibly stupid protégé Holly Menninger-Isenhour publicly asked the malevolent Martin about Toad's taxpayer-funded investigation just a few months ago.

No wonder Martin has classified the abject waste of taxpayer money on lawyers and legal actions as "too sensitive" for the voters to see. Let's do a simple math exercise:
  • Let's be generous and assume that Toad only spent TWENTY BILLABLE HOURS investigating the State Auditor's report. And let's be equally generous and say that Toad only billed the taxpayers ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER HOUR for that "investigation". So, TWENTY BILLABLE HOURS TIMES ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER HOUR = TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
  • Let's be generous again and assume that Toad only billed one hour for joining Martin in the sit-down with Goodenough, presenting the Chief with two bad options So, ONE BILLABLE HOUR TIMES ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER HOUR = ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS.
  • We're nowhere near done. Let's be generous again and assume that Toad only billed for the hours he spent during Goodenough's disciplinary hearing and two hours of "preparation time" per hour spent in the disciplinary hearing. That is FORTY-TWO HOURS TIMES ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER HOUR=FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS.
  • Oh, we're not finished yet. We are fairly convinced that part of the dishonest deal Martin struck to get Goodenough to retire involved paying Goodenough's legal fees. Let's again be generous and assume that Goodenough got a discounted rate. Remember that he had two attorneys at both dismissal hearings. We'll again low-ball the preparation time to two hours per every hour spent in Martin's kangaroo court. Let's say the total charge for both attorneys was a very cheap THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS PER HOUR. So, FORTY-TWO HOURS TIMES THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS PER HOUR = TWELVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Have you been running the extremely low-ball total? If not, it totals to TWENTY THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS to railroad Chief Goodenough. Sure, its still less than the TWENTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLAR-PLUS check Martin signed the purchase order for to reimburse himself for Toad's legal fees Martin incurred to defend himself in the October, 2012 removal hearing that resulted in Martin being CONVICTED ON SEVEN OF NINE COUNTS OF OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT AND NEGLECT OF DUTY.

But either way, its still a terrible waste of taxpayer money.

Fighting Martin Fatigue

The Martin Chronicles knows that the residents of Villa Hills are tired. Its obvious that some on the City council are tired. Heck, we're tired too. Why the fatigue? Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's rampant corruption and incompetence has taken a dreadful toll on  many, many people.

But everyone needs to remember that just because Martin has finally rid himself of all of the people he blames for his 2007 FORGERY ARREST, he remains the same corrupt and incompetent person he has been for many years. That fact will not change.

Now is the time to gather our energy and begin to plan for the major task that is ahead. That major task? To work hard to finally eliminate the root cause of the fatigue. To work hard to finally eliminate the corruption and incompetence. To work hard to ensure that Martin and the rest of his cronies are voted out of office this November 4.

Residents need to think twice before squabbling with the people who continue to defend the indefensible Martin. It is a pointless waste of time. If-after three and a half years of cronyism, records destruction, police department destruction, "redacted" financials, continual LIES, threats, intimidation, bullying, abuse of power and everything else-these defenders persist in their foolish fantasy that Martin is just misunderstood and simply needs a chance to show what he can really do, they will never change their minds.

It is painfully obvious to reasonable, fair-minded people that the last three and a half years have been an unnecessary disaster. These reasonable, fair-minded people need to know that they are the ones with the ultimate power to clean out the filthy stable that the Villa Hills City Building has become.

The voters need to exercise that ultimate power on November 4.

No One Escapes The Inquisition!

The Martin Chronicles greatly appreciates all of the publicity we received from Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin’s personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) Monday night.  He questioned everyone-with the exception of the lunatic Mike Pope-with an obsessive vengeance that would have made  that old red-baiting “Tailgunner Joe” McCarthy beam with pride.

  • “Are you-or have you ever been-the author of The Martin Chronicles? Remember, you’re under oath!”
  • “Do you know-or have you ever known-the author of the Martin Chronicles? Remember, you’re under oath!”
  • “Do you leak-or have you ever leaked-information to The Martin Chronicles? Remember, you’re under oath!”
  • “Do you read (pronounced reed)-or have you ever read (pronounced red)-The Martin Chronicles? Remember, you’re under oath!”
Many taxpayers probably wonder why Martin’s personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) would be wasting so much time-and taxpayer money-on a personal witch hunt. As far as everyone knew, the hearing was about Martin’s bogus charges against Dan Goodenough. Maybe Toad V. McMurtry didn’t get the memo.

Oh, wait a minute. That's right. Profligate waste of taxpayer-money on lawyers and legal actions has been a hallmark of Martin's Reign of Error. So, of course we know why Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) was frittering away on so much "billable time" serving as the grand inquisitor about the pesky little blog that dares to regularly report on Martin's rampant corruption and mismanagement.

We know people  like Martin and McMurtry often rely on what is generally referred to as the “chilling effect”. These two-and their cronies-like to intimidate their perceived enemies with thinly-and not-so-thinly-veiled threats of lawsuits and job loss from their seats of power in order to frighten them in to silence. Is that an example of "doing great things for people". Hmmmm.

We get it. Most of us have been reporting on corruption and mismanagement for many, many years now. Strong-arming mobsters like Martin and McMurtry are nothing new. But our record-breaking readership numbers did reach new heights today.

Thank you Toad V. McMurtry!

So Long, Danny

The Martin Chronicles sincerely hopes people remember the spectacle of these last two-plus weeks in March when they head to the polls in November. We intend to do everything we can to make sure they do. We also know that there are other citizen groups who will do the same.

What is that spectacle? The people of Villa Hills-and the entire Tri-State-have seen the deceit and abuse of power of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin and his cronies on full display before the cameras of the local media.

Police Chief Dan Goodenough is retiring after more than twenty-seven years of service to the residents of the once-proud City of Villa Hills in exchange for Martin dropping all of his bogus charges against him. Who can blame him? Dan Goodenough is using his own personal resources to defend himself against Martin's unleashed lawlessness. Martin has been squandering disgraceful amounts of the taxpayer's money to wrap up vendetta against the people who he blames for his 2007 FORGERY ARREST.

Unless you've been living in a cave, you've seen Martin LIE to the television cameras again and again and again. Oh, Martin's LIES are nothing new. But they haven't been on such full and obvious display until recently. So, do you still think "this mayor does great things for people"?

If you want to understand the kind of people you elected in 2012, consider this. Holly Menninger-Isenhour left the building early this morning joyously and sarcastically singing the '70's hit by Steam, "Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye". This is what happens when voters stock their local government with pinheads.

Martin tried to reverse gears and put on a mendacious mask of magnanimity after announcing that he had finally spent enough taxpayer money to force out Goodenough. Martin sheepishly admitted that Goodenough served the City well for most of his career.

So, what has changed? And, what will change in November?

That remains to be seen.

WEEKENDER V: Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick

The Martin Chronicles beloved publisher has decided to give the staff a brief break for basketball-and bathing. Then, back to work. The clock is ticking towards the second installment of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's kangaroo court dismissal hearing for Police Chief Dan Goodenough. We fully intend to be on our game for that even-which is sure to be a corrupt circus.

Here are things all fair-minded residents should be pondering on the eve of what is almost sure to be a massive miscarriage of justice that has been orchestrated by the tiny tyrant Martin:
  • According to Martin's own sworn testimony, nothing Chief Goodenough has ever done rose to the level of the need for Martin to take time away from his unlicensed handyman business to give the Chief a verbal reprimand. How do we know this? Because Martin himself admitted-under oath-that no verbal reprimand was ever given.
  • According to Martin's own sworn testimony, nothing Chief Goodenough has ever done rose to the level of the need for Martin to take time away from his unlicensed handyman business to give the Chief a written reprimand. How do we know this? Because Martin himself admitted-under oath-that no written reprimand was ever given.
  • According to Martin's own sworn testimony, nothing Chief Goodenough has ever done rose to the level of the need for Martin to take time away from his unlicensed handyman business to give the Chief a verbal warning. How do we know this? Because Martin himself admitted-under oath-that no verbal warning was ever given.
  • According to Martin's own sworn testimony, nothing Chief Goodenough has ever done rose to the level of the need for Martin to take time away from his unlicensed handyman business to give the Chief a written warning. How do we know this? Because Martin himself admitted-under oath-that no written warning was ever given.
  • So, a reasonable, fair-minded person can only conclude that-for some inexplicable reason-the mismanaging Martin chose to disregard the long-held and commonly-accepted practice of "progressive discipline" and simply wants the current City Council to vote to endorse Goodenough's termination. That same reasonable, fair-minded person would also have to conclude that such an agreement by the current City Council clearly represents an endorsement of absolutely dreadful mismanagement by the mallet-headed Martin.
Simply compare the current Martin miscarriage of justice with his mishandling of the formerly endlessly-interim City Clerk Sue Bree. Go back to Martin's October, 2012 removal hearing. Special Counsel Phil Taliaferro read the detail of a written reprimand Martin gave to Bree-given only after Martin had been charged with NEGLECT OF DUTY for not properly counseling Bree for what the miniature mullah claimed was her ILLEGAL DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS.

Martin wrote that he had "repeatedly" advised Bree about the importance of properly following Kentucky Statutes regarding Open Records and Document Retention. Martin went on to write that-despite "repeatedly" counseling her-Bree continued to violate Federal, State and Local law.

So, Bree was terminated, right? The answer isn't "NO". The answer is "HELL, NO". Not only wasn't Bree fired, her written reprimand for continually violating Federal, State and Local laws mysteriously disappeared from City Records. How do we know this? Because written responses to several Open Records requests for Bree's written reprimand said so.
A reasonable, fair-minded person just might conclude that Bree's written reprimand mysteriously disappeared because of the defiant and favorable testimony she provided for Martin during his October, 2012 removal hearing. Can you say "coercion"?

How disgusting is this turn of events? The back-stabbing Bree was even on hand to scribble minutes at Round One of Police Chief Dan Goodenough's removal hearing. Why? Because Current City Clerk-and ersatz City Administrator-Craig T. Bohman was tasked by Martin with the duty of testifying against Goodenough. It is a true taxpayer-funded travesty.

The Martin Chronicles is also enjoying the egregious display of HYPOCRISY being exhibited by former and current Council Rhine Maiden Mary Koenig. As you know, we are avid readers of the various social networks.

So, why do we write "HYPOCRISY" on the part of Koenig? We go back to a December 20, 2000 Patrick Crowley article from The Kentucky Enquirer. “If you want to look at personal vendettas,” Mrs. Koenig said, “you need to start by looking at those legal bills.” To what was the vile, ancient Crocodile Koenig referring? The money that council spent for then-City Attorney Lawson Walker to investigate the disappearance of $25,025 in City funds.

So, why doesn't the vile, ancient crocodile express any concern for the mountainous fees being paid to Martin personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry as he conducts his Martin-mandated witch hunt against Dan Goodenough? Isn't that answer obvious?

While The Martin Chronicles is on the subject of the vile, ancient crocodile Mary Koenig, isn't it amazing how she always seems to be around when a Villa Hills Police Chief is being fired? What the hell is up with that? What does Mary Koenig have against Villa Hills Police Chiefs? We know the reasonable residents of Villa Hills are asking that same question.

What Villa Hills needs is a complete housecleaning. The malevolent Martin clearly needs to go. Most or all of Martin's current, mostly-supplicant, "golden moment" City Council needs to go. Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry needs to go. Martin's trouble-making City Clerk-and ersatz City Administrator-Craig T. Bohman needs to go. Federal, State and Local law-breaking, formerly endlessly interim City Clerk Sue Bree needs to go. There are probably others who need to go. A new broom must sweep completely clean. But what will Villa Hills voters decide to do in roughly 226 days.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.

WEEKENDER IV: We Are Watching Them

The Martin Chronicles entire staff continues to work virtually non-stop as we approach the final countdown for Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's second round of the kangaroo-court dismissal hearing for Police Chief Dan Goodenough. The malevolent Martin is banking on the fact that the three definite votes he already knows he has for Chief Dan's removal will help the diminutive dictator finally put the finishing touches on his vicious vendetta against everyone he incorrectly blames for his 2007 FORGERY ARREST. You know why we write, "Incorrectly" don't you? Four judges opined that when Martin signed his deceased mother's name on his deceased mother's checks, cashed them and pocketed the proceeds that his actions FIT THE VERY DEFINITION OF FORGERY, after all.

We hope everyone in the very troubled town of Villa Hills has found a way to enjoy their Saturday night. Perhaps you are enjoying time with family and friends or reveling in the excitement of March Madness. Maybe you decided to go to Saturday services. If you did, we hope you prayed for Dan Goodenough and his family. When you finally put your head on your pillow tonight, you can rest assured that The Martin Chronicles will still be hard at work digging for the truth. That truth is very unsettling.

Source after source after source has been telling us of the terrible, behind-the-scenes actions of the mendacious Martin, his personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns), his City Clerk-and ersatz City Administrator-Craig T. Bohman, Councilmembers Koenig, Menninger-Isenhour and Wischer and other dark figures. There have been threats and there has been systematic intimidation. There has been suspicious removal of City records. There has been doctoring of so-called evidence. There have been bogus, "anonymous" letters to State agencies and employers of Martin's perceived enemies. It is the stuff on the scale of the old Soviet Union's KGB or any-era America's organized crime mobs.

The mendacious Martin has worked very hard crafting a FALSE image of a nice little fellow who loves to charitable works for the people of far away Haiti. But remember, he is simultaneously trying to destroy the life of a kid from Latonia who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and then spent his post-USMC service in a different kind of selfless public service, starting a DARE program, a Neighborhood Watch program, a Women's Self-Defense class, a Shop With a Cop Program, a Baby-Sitting class and devoted countless hours to assisting the River Ridge Resource Center that helps underprivileged children from the community.

Martin's PHONY personal public relations efforts have gained the support of the tarnished nitwits from the Villa Hills Civic Club. Martin's lousy LIES prompted one little fellow to LIE to either the Villa Hills Police or the Special Counsel in order to save Martin's undeserving butt from removal from office in October, 2012. Martin's CALUMNIOUS charade has prompted various and assorted dim-bulbs to take to podiums proclaiming that the miscreant Mayor "does great things for people". Well, at least if they aren't "people" who Martin wants to ruin. What an ugly joke.

Martin's PHONY façade is very easy for most people to discern. A soft poke of the finger causes the whole MOUNTAIN OF LIES to come tumbling down. Smart people don't listen to what the SINISTER Martin says. Instead, they watch what the DEVIOUS Martin does.

Do you want an example? Sure you do. Try this recent one on for size. Barely two weeks ago, the malicious Martin was LYING to the media, telling them that Police Chief Dan Goodenough was "taking a few days off". We now know for a fact that Goodenough had already been delivered an ultimatum from Martin and his personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) to either resign and agree to keep his mouth shut and to never seek employment in Villa Hills again or face the PERNICOUS PROPAGANDA MACHINE of the miniature mullah and his taxpayer-funded GOON SQUAD. Some choice, huh?

Well, our beloved publisher has the entire staff The Martin Chronicles completely dedicated to following the precepts of his childhood hero, The Batman. We aren't going to be bullied or intimidated by these petty tyrants who are currently destroying the once proud City of Villa Hills. We shrug off the criticisms that we are "vile" and "disgusting" We disregard those who say we "make fun of people". Why? Because we are reporting the truth.

Here is what we all believe-and yes, it's a motto borrowed from The Batman:

" Criminals like Martin and his dishonest goon squad are a cowardly and superstitious lot. They are hearts of the darkest night. Our disguise must strike the terror of truth. We must also be as black as they are and deliver that terrible truth to the people. So, we will also be creatures of that darkest night. While it may frighten you at times, we will come crashing through your window to deliver the unstoppable power of the truth. We will become like The Bat."

Pretty cool, huh?

WEEKENDER III: What If Martin Had Been Truthful?

The Martin Chronicles staff has been spending some time playing the old parlor game of “what if”? We are trying to imagine the shape Villa Hills would be in right now -and we know it has always been and will forevermore be impossible-if malfeasant Mike Martin had ever decided to just tell the truth.

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he absolutely was suing the taxpayers for the ridiculous sum of $1.505 million while simultaneously asking for their vote in 2010? What if Martin decided that he really wasn’t “happy” to LIE to the voters and FALSELY tell them he wasn’t suing them?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he always intended to disband the Villa Hills Police Department if ever elected mayor? What if Martin had chosen not to LIE when he FALSELY assured the voters that safety was his “first priority”?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he always intended to ruin the careers of Police Chief Dan Goodenough and Assistant Chief Joe Schutzman if ever elected mayor? Why? Because Martin was and continues to be on a mindless vendetta stemming from the fact that he was caught signing his deceased mother’s name on his deceased mother’s checks, cashing them and sticking the proceeds in his pocket. What if Martin had decided not to LIE and FALSELY tell people that Goodenough and Schutzman just needed to learn how to “get along” with the miniature mullah?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he never intended to repeal the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX? Countless residents continue to tell us that Martin LIED to their faces about his plan to do exactly that. We don't even have to rely on what these residents say Martin FALSELY told them. We can just go back to the 2010 Cincinnati.com post of August, 2010 where Martin told reporter Jason Brubaker that-if he was elected mayor-he could find the needed money for street repair in the "current City budget".

But of course we "know now" that Martin has only found money in the "current City budget" to pay unnecessary, wasteful overtime, reward cronies who did his campaign dirty work with over-priced, taxpayer-funded jobs and contracts and-worst of all-use taxpayer money to pay for lawyers and legal actions to carry out his personal vendetta against the Villa Hills Police Department.

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he ILLEGALLY DESTROYED TAXPAYER-FUNDED CITY PROPERTY-the City safe-in a desperate attempt to discover some bit of information or document that he could MISREPRESENT as proof that-despite the fact that he signed his deceased mother's name on the back of his deceased mother's checks, cashed them and pocketed the proceeds-that he really didn't COMMIT FORGERY?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he IMPROPERLY MISUSED City employees and resources in a covert attempt to promote the ridiculous 2011 ROAD TAX he tried to trick the voters in to approving? What if Martin and his cronies hadn't LIED and FALSELY claimed that the ridiculous 2011 ROAD TAX was just a vote to repeal the UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he launched a SYSTEMATIC AND ILLEGAL PROGRAM OF CITY RECORDS DESTRUCTION beginning in the very early days of his misadministration? Why? Because most crooks know it’s damned hard to prove much if all of the evidence is gone.  What if Martin had decided not to LIE as he clearly did when he FALSELY blamed his crony-hire, giantess, temporary clerk and his brain-dead, interim City Clerk for the burning and shredding of documents? What if Martin decided not to LIE as he did when he FALSELY accused Goodenough and Schutzman of planting evidence in the stunted sultan’s ILLEGAL records pyre?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that several people advised him in the very early days of his misadministration about what was meant to be a temporary arrangement for providing building and zoning services? What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he consciously decided to continue that arrangement only because he didn’t want to do harm to his $1.505 million lawsuit against the taxpayers? What if he had decided not to LIE as he did when he claimed no one ever told him about what was always intended to be a temporary arrangement?

What if Martin had been truthful about the fact that he did and still does use family members-like his wife and sister-to assist him with his strange witch hunts against his perceived enemies? What if Martin told the truth about the fact that his wife and sister did and still do send open records requests for the express purpose of doing harm to those perceived enemies? What would people think of Martin’s FALSE CLAIM of ignorance about the source of the “anonymous” letter that triggered the State Auditor’s Report then?

If Martin hadn't told LIE after LIE after LIE after LIE after LIE he may never have become mayor and been put in to the position to abuse his power as he has clearly done time and again. If Martin hadn't told LIE after LIE after LIE after LIE after LIE he may never had gained the public platform that enabled the crooked caliph to blame the previous council for all of the turmoil for which Martin was-and continues to be-totally responsible. The previous council was voted out, unleashing Martin's LAWLESSNESS just as the Special Counsel correctly predicted in October, 2012.

But The Martin Chronicles understands that this is only a game of “what if”. We are fully aware that Martin is incapable of telling the truth. We know that Martin has been and continues to be so corrupt and so incompetent that he now has no choice left but to LIE.

Martin’s LIES are sure to continue right up to November 4.

WEEKENDER II: HUZZAH!!!

The Martin Chronicles read a recent Cincinnati.com post and just had to laugh. Kenton County bilious blowhard Judge Executive Steve Jowlinghaus is asserting that he deserves to be re-elected because he has the endorsement of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin. Well, boy howdy!

Who's next for Jowlinghaus? Vladimir Putin? Hassan Rouhani? Kim Jong-un? Bashar al-Assad? Michael Sata? Nicolas Maduro? Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud? Paul Kagame? Jose Eduardo dos Santos? Robert Mugabe? Hamid Karzai? Idriss Deby? Raul Castro? Yahya Jammeh? If Jowlinghaus wants yet another goofball mayor to endorse him, he might consider approaching Toronto's Rob Ford. Maybe Jowlinghaus should ask the Villa Hills Civic Club's General Zod for an endorsement? Why the hell not?

Those two crooks Jowlinghaus and Martin deserve each other!

WEEKENDER I: Circuit Court

The Martin Chronicles reporters have been talking to inside sources now for some time. From what we are being told, the second part of Villa Hills Police Chief Dan Goodenough's dismissal hearing Monday night is merely a formality. Why? Because malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin has already successfully lobbied for the "yes" votes he needs to terminate the long-serving Chief.

Just do a head count. Koenig is a definite "yes". Menninger-Isenhour is a definite "yes". People who have tried to appeal to Brian Wischer's non-existent sense of fairness have also concluded that he is also a definite "yes". That being said, Martin plans to vote "yes" to break any tie that would happen if Councilmembers Baehner, Balson or Cahill refuse to jump on Martin's railroad.

Many people believe it is completely unfair that the mendacious Martin would be allowed the opportunity to cast a vote to tip the decision in his favor. But, as former President Jimmy Carter once famously said, "Life isn't fair".

In effect, the tiny tyrant has the statutory authority to abuse his power however he wants-at least within the city's limits. Then it becomes the responsibility of the aggrieved party-in this case, Dan Goodenough-to challenge Martin's abusive actions in circuit court. We fully expect that this matter will head directly to the circuit court.

The matter will be judged in a quite different matter in circuit court. Dan Goodenough will be provided due process there-unlike in Martin's kangaroo court. The facts and the evidence will matter there-again, unlike in Martin's kangaroo court.

  • The fact that Martin admitted under oath that he failed to do his duty regarding the unnecessary waste of taxpayer money for overtime will carry great weight in circuit court.
  • The fact that Martin never once sat down and talked to Goodenough about his concerns about the unnecessary waste of taxpayer money for overtime spending will carry great weight in circuit court.
  • The fact that Martin was very well aware of the situation that led to the unnecessary waste of taxpayer money for overtime spending in the very early days of his misadministration will carry great weight in circuit court.
  • The fact that the only reason Martin failed to take prudent steps to stop the unnecessary waste of taxpayer money for overtime spending is because he was advised by his attorney that those prudent steps would damage his $1.505 MILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE TAXPAYERS will carry great weight in circuit court.
  • The fact that Martin continually and callously disregarded the very public requests of the Police Chief to bring the police department to proper staffing levels in order to reduce unnecessary overtime will carry great weight in circuit court.
  • The fact that Martin only took those prudent steps to stop the unnecessary waste of taxpayer money for overtime spending after four judges tossed his $1.505 MILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE TAXPAYERS out of court, opining that what Martin did FIT THE VERY DEFINITION OF FORGERY, will carry great weight in circuit court.

Sure, Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) will continue to line his pockets defending Martin's position in circuit court. Hey, it's great work if you can find it.

While we're on the subject of the pocket-lining Toad V. McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns), what happens if council caves in to McMurtry's admonishment to hurry up and fire Goodenough so they can hire a new police chief?

Here's a scenario that should keep Villa Hills taxpayers up at night. Let's say our sources are correct and Martin's kangaroo court fires Goodenough Monday night. Then let's say Martin's council cronies quickly approve his hiring of a new police chief. Then let's say that the circuit court overturns the decision of Martin's kangaroo court. What happens then?

Does the newly-hired police chief file suit? Does Dan Goodenough file suit? Do they both file suit? Yeah, the pocket-lining McMurtry (of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns) will make a whole lot of money representing the City (read: Martin) as the whole mess is sorted out. But the taxpayers will take it squarely in the shorts. Boy howdy, what a mess.

We certainly hope Martin and his council cronies continue to spend their late nights at the Villa Hills Civic Club. That's where the newly elected-but decidedly "old school"-members of the club's hierarchy whisper "sweet nothings" in to the ears of Martin and his council cronies. Please keep it going.

Why? Because Martin and his council cronies will then remain oblivious to the giant storm that is brewing in Villa Hills. A rapidly growing number of people have had more than enough of the rampant corruption and mismanagement of Martin and his council cronies. Judgment day is coming.

It's now 227 days away.

Words Of Wisdom From Our Readers

The Martin Chronicles has been receiving a flood of e-mails about Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's latest debacle-his thuggish attempt to fire long-serving Police Chief Dan Goodenough. Our perky, young intern has been assigned the full-time duty of reading the massive amount of communication and reporting on it at each morning's 3am staff meeting. In our view, she has done a great job.

Following is just a very small sampling from our readers:

..."I've lived in this area for decades and I still can't figure it out. What is it about a town of supposedly smart people who allow something like this to happen? It hasn't just happened once. This is the second time in a little more than ten years where a mayor fired the police chief for what seems to be no good reason. Except to find someone to blame for all of their problems. It's the old saying, 'Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.' We've done this to ourselves again."...

..."Martin LAWBREAKER!!!"...
-and-
..."Martin is a jackass."...
-and-
..."Martin is an idiot."...
-and-

..."Martin is a pathological liar."...
-and-
..."Martin is a damned fool."...
-and-

..."Martin is a piece of (EXPLETIVE)!"...
-and-
..."Martin SUCKS!"...
-and-
..."Martin is a crook!"...
-you get this picture-

..."Am I the only one who knew the election of a guy who was suing Goodenough, Schutzman and us was only going to spell trouble? I can't be, can I? Am I the only one who isn't surprised by this? Schutzman forced out? Goodenough about to be fired? It wasn't hard to see this coming."...

..."To hell with the current council agreeing to hire Martin's personal attorney to now rip us all off as the City Attorney. Who even thinks about thinking about, thinking about, thinking about, thinking about, thinking about, thinking about doing that. They all need to go."...

..."Did you see Martin when he was being questioned Monday night? It was like the chair he was sitting on was on fire. He was really on the hot seat, I guess. Does he even know when he's telling a lie?"...
-or-
..."I think Martin needs to go to a proctologist right away. Did you see him squirming around so uncomfortably in that witness chair Monday night. He either has a raging case of hemorrhoids or he was lying through his teeth."...
-or-
..."It looked like Martin was getting zapped by electric shocks when he was being questioned by Goodie's (Goodenough's) lawyer. My guess? Martin wired the chair so that his attorney could send him the answers and his crummy electrical work kept short circuiting or the little (EXPLETIVE) was LYING (e-mailer's caps)!!!"...

..."I hope everyone remembers who's responsible for this. Martin. Martin's buddies on that (EXPLETIVE) council. Martin's lawyer and clerk. Martin's pals at the civic club. Mike Pope and Jim Noll for refusing to toss out Martin when they had the chance. Top of the list? That's easy. It's everyone who sat back, didn't do a (EXPLETIVE) thing and let Martin get elected in the first (EXPLETIVE) place. (EXPLETIVE) (EXPLETIVE) (EXPLETIVE)!"...

..."Martin is claiming that the mayor's job is just so hard. He's crying that he only gets paid $200 a month to do it. That's why he didn't spend enough time making sure that all of these things he says everyone else did wrong were stopped. He asked for the job. He should either do that job or walk away. No, he should just walk away because its clear he's not cut out for the job."...

... "Am I the only one who thinks that Martin' City Clerk looks just like actor Steve Buscemi? What the (EXPLETIVE)? Why not? Bohman was clearly acting too. He was acting like he had some shocking revelations about Chief Dan. But it was all a total sham. That (EXPLETIVE) Martin is the real crook. Buscemi usually portrays pandering psychos in the movies. But Bohman wasn't acting. This is exactly who that (EXPLETIVE) really is."...

-or-
..."Don't you think Martin's City Attorney looks just like the arch-Villain from the SUPERMAN comics LEX LUTHOR? I thing this guy is the one really calling the shots currently."...

-or-
...Why did Martin and his buddies on council think that it was a great idea to hire Doctor Evil to serve as the City Attorney? What the (EXPLETIVE) were they thinking?"...

..."I've been hearing some people say that we need to change our city's form of government. Here's a novel thought. Why not just pay more attention and elect good people to the current form of government? Then this stupid (EXPLETIVE) won't happen."...

..."I hate to be the one who breaks the bad news. But this thing is a done deal. I sat in that meeting Monday night and watched Holly put her head back on her chair and close her eyes. They've already made up their mind to fire Danny. This is just a show so Martin can run his own removal hearing. It's payback. That's all it is."...

...Did you hear Martin admit under oath that he never once talked to Dan about all of his so-called concerns about the money that is being wasted on overtime? What the (EXPLETIVE)? We now also know that he never talked to Schutzman about any of his concerns about the cost of building and zoning stuff. At least until that little (EXPLETIVE) fired Joe. What the (EXPLETIVE)? This guy Martin is an idiot and a liar!"...

-And our personal favorite-

..."Let's break out the tar and feathers and put an end to this right now!"...

Everyone still has to wait 229 days to fix Martin's mess.

More On Martin's Monday Dismissal Hearing

The Martin Chronicles staff continues to discuss last night’s despicable dismissal hearing held for Villa Hills Police Chief Dan Goodenough. We aren’t really sure why there’s a need for a follow-up hearing next Monday night. But there’s gonna be one anyway. Why do we say there's no legitimate need for another meeting? Because malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin has already confessed under oath that he is actually the one responsible for all the mess.

Has the outcome of Martin’s witch hunt actually already been decided? Many think so. Want a major clue? Martin personal-and now taxpayer-funded City- Attorney Toad V. McMurtry (of real estate law firm Gerner and Kearns) told the council that they needed to hurry up and get this (firing Goodenough) done so they could hire a new Police Chief. Just like all things Martin and McMurtry do, this is a total con job.
Speaking of con jobs, several sources say Martin and his fellow ass clowns were “whooping it up” at the civic club after Monday night’s hearing. Martin and the rest of his fellow hillbillies are already celebrating Goodenough’s firing.  WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Speaking of Toad V. McMurtry (of real estate law firm Gerner and Kearns), Villa Hills’ taxpayers will be shocked by his extremely high legal bills. McMurtry’s fees have run from $7,000 to $13,000 a month since the new City Budget was passed. Before Martin was elected mayor in 2010, legal fees were typically between $15,000 and $20,000 a year. Now? Well, they are trending to run between $84,000 to $156,000 a year.  Can you say “conspiracy”?

Speaking of the real estate law firm of Gerner and Kearns, why were the charges against Police Chief Dan Goodenough printed on their letterhead and not on the letterhead of the City of Villa Hills. Just who the hell is running the show here? Never mind.
Speaking of paperwork, the DISHONEST Martin got caught in yet another LIE Monday night. Martin used to be fond of whining that his predecessor completely emptied out the mayor’s office and failed to leave the stunted sultan even a paper clip or Post-It Note.

But no more. Monday night, Martin claimed his predecessor left him “stacks of paperwork” with no direction about how to handle it. Martin’s PHONY point? He had so many “stacks of paperwork” that he didn’t have even a minute to talk to Chief Goodenough about any of his concerns. Three and-a-half years of paperwork? Sure? Why not? Must have been one hell of a fire hazard. We have to guess that is why Martin will say that he ILEGALLY burned and shredded so many City documents.

Is there anybody left who still believes a darn thing this guy says?
