WEEKENDER: Where Is His Website?

The Martin Chronicles has to admit that we are a bit disappointed. Why? Former Villa Hills councilprovocateur Mike Pope has yet to re-launch his alternate reality Villa Hills website (NOT the OFFICIAL website of the City of Villa Hills). It sure seems that there are ample reasons for Mr. Pope to to return to the world-wide web.

THE LACK OF A ROAD PLAN - Ah, remember the days when Mike Pope spoke fondly of his FIFTY YEAR ROAD PLAN (aka his "LOG-his spelling, not ours-TERM PLAN")? Now we are reduced to vile ancient crocodile Councilman Mary Koenig's TWO YEAR ROAD PLAN. Worse yet, Councilman Koenig tells us the plan can change at the drop of her Viking helmet.

NO FINANCIAL RECORDS - We are hearing reports that the City's financial records are in even worse disarray than we suspected. And we suspected that they were a hopelessly-tangled bag of snakes! Mr. Pope always claimed to be a financial expert. Where is he in our time of great need?

POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE DISBANDED - This is a very tough one. Mr. Pope even had a separate website reporting on what he described as a "crime wave in Villy-yes, Villy- Hills. And this was before the home invasions, burglaries, thefts, break-ins and shootings threatened what he always hoped would be a "family-friendly" community. Where are you Mr. Pope? We need you!

MONTHLY SECRET MEETINGS - Mr. Pope attacked the previous administration for holding what he described as a single, "secret meeting". Pope's rationale? That meeting wasn't televised. You know what? We agree with Mr. Pope on that. So where is Pope's outrage now? Secret meetings are now an official policy of the Martin mis-Administration after all. We need Mr. Pope to put his website back online and enlighten us with his pearls of wisdom NOW.

THE UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX - Through another separate website warning people of "A NEW TAX FOR YOU", Mr. Pope VOWED to REPEAL this UNFAIR TAX. Alas, the tax is still in FULL FORCE. Well, almost. You do have to count the money YOU are paying Kounty Boss Steve Barfinghaus to collect it for Martin. Oh, the humanity!

NEIGHBOR PITTED AGAINST NEIGHBOR - Mr. Pope was outraged at former Councilman Greg Kilburn's suggestion that the City file suit against those residents who have refused to pay THE UNFAIR $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX. Martin-who has ducked many a fee and tax himself-is now acting on Mr. Kilburn's suggestion. Residents have been notified that they are being sued. Even some who paid in now-missing cash. Mr. Pope, we need your outrage now more than ever.

Where is Pope's website? Where is his clarion call? If there was ever a time for a man of the people to stand up and shout, it's now! Could it be that Mr. Pope never really cared about any of this after all? How weird would that be?

Where have you gone Mike Pope? A city turns it's desperate eyes to you.
