This Week's Conclave

The Martin Chronicles crack reporter Ed tells us he was distractedly watching television Saturday morning. He heard a news reporter say that "the conclave (secret meeting) was going to convene this week to begin making this important decision". Knowing that Villa Hills' monthly "mystery meeting" is to be held this week, he was concerned that the "important decision" related to malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's clandestine plan to disband the city's police department. Ed was relieved when he learned that the conclave was in Rome and they were simply tasked with picking the next head of the Roman Catholic Church.

But that doesn't mean that Martin's furtive plan to finally rid himself of the Villa Hills police won't be discussed at this week's SECRET COUNCIL MEETING. New Councilmember Brian Wischer has it wrong when he says that the SECRET COUNCIL MEETINGS should make the regular meetings run more quickly. That isn't the purpose of the SECRET COUNCIL MEETINGS at all.

No, the SECRET COUNCIL MEETINGS were established to allow Martin to ram through first readings of some of the BIG CHANGES that he has planned for you. It's perfect for the mendacious Martin. Almost no one even realizes the meetings are being held. They aren't televised. That was a conscious decision by Martin to make sure the public doesn't have enough time to react.

Martin is LYING when he tells you he has simply been on the receiving end of inquiries from four other police agencies about providing (INFERIOR) service. As we have told you, Martin began this process even before he was elected mayor in 2010. The process is about to reach its climax. And you may not be able to do anything about it.

It's unclear who on council supports what has been described as "outsourcing". But each of them should be asked exactly where they stand.

If a councilperson replies, "I think we should take a look at our options", they should be pressed again. The question isn't about "a process" or "the exploration of options".

The question is a simple "yes" or "no". Do you support disbanding Villa Hills' police department?

A lot is riding on their answer.
