A First Look At The Interrogatories

As we reported yesterday, The Martin Chronicles has obtained a copy of the interrogatories hand-delivered to beleaguered Villa Hills’ Mayor Martin Tuesday, February 7. Sources close to the investigation have told us on background that Martin has been completely uncooperative with the Special Counsel since the probe into his questionable activities and behavior began last September.
Given the amount of trouble the mayor faces, his stonewalling comes as no real surprise. For that reason we don’t think it is likely that Martin will respond to the interrogatories either. No matter. The Special Counsel already has the answers to most of the questions.
So, let’s take a look at some of the interrogatories. These questions provide a great window into the deep trouble Martin faces.
Question 6 – Please confirm or deny whether you have ever owned a business named “Mike Martin Electric, Inc.”
Question 14- If you have ever been licensed to perform electrical work in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, please provide the date of licensure. If your license is no longer current, please provide the date which your license expired.
Question 15 – Please provide Independent Counsel a copy of any electrical license ever issued to you by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Questions 34 through 40 ask Martin if he performed electrical or plumbing work at specific addresses in Villa Hills.
We have already heard a few people comment, “Why does that matter?” The Martin Chronicles will explain why it matters. Unlicensed electrical and/or plumbing work is illegal. Such offenses can result in substantial fines up to $5,000 and as many as 180 days in jail for each offense.
Sources close to the investigation confirm that Special Counsel has already obtained copies of several checks made out to Mike Martin Electric for electrical and plumbing work Martin performed in Villa Hills. These sources further confirm that these payments were for work performed while Martin was serving as an elected official in Villa Hills.
We'll explore more of the interrogatories in upcoming posts.
