The Martin Chronicles has obtained yet another bizarre e-mail from Villa Hills’ Councilman Mike Pope to his beloved Mayor Mike Martin. This e-mail is important because it clearly demonstrates that despite the grim fact Mr. Pope is staring right down the barrel of an impending serious lawsuit of his own, he simply cannot help himself. As is our strict policy, Pope’s e-mail is once again reprinted in its entirety, including grammatical and spelling errors. We have spent the past four months developing a reputation for solid journalistic integrity that is closely followed by the dinosaur media. So, here goes.
Mayor . . . . I realized the time it tight right now but I would ask that the Chief provide the following information with your approval.
I like to see a listing or time schedule of all calls, complaints, reports, etc and the time spent on each that Officer Schutzman has responded to / worked on etc for all hour logged for this work week through 8:51am Tuesday February 7, 2012.
Please let me know if you will ask the Chief to provide this information.
Thanks,
Mike
This e-mail is more than a bit awkward. It plays right into the hands of the employee Pope singles out. How so? Mr. Schutzman is suing Mayor Martin (and Martin’s partner in LIBEL, Dale Schaber) for several reasons, including retaliation. Given the fact that Pope is singling this employee out for scrutiny, it strengthens the employee’s already serious case for this ongoing retaliation in the workplace.
While The Martin Chronicles is disinclined to give people the likes of Mike Pope any advice that might help them, wouldn’t it have made more sense to request this information for all City employees, or at least the entire police department? It certainly would have prevented exposing the taxpayers to even greater liability than they already face due to Martin’s ham-handed attacks against his perceived enemies.
By the way, is The Martin Chronicles the only one wondering about the significance of “8:51am Tuesday February 7, 2012”? We sincerely doubt that we are.
Here is the bottom line. Martin has totally mishandled the operation of the police department. His incompetent meddling has resulted in an explosion of police department overtime that is well in excess of $150,000. Who pays the price for Martin’s amateurish mismanagement? It is the taxpayers of course.
Perhaps the last person to realize the root cause of this unnecessary squandering of taxpayer money (Martin’s abject unprofessionalism) is Mike Pope. Pope is the Chairman of the Finance Committee. The taxpayers should be deeply concerned.
[EDITOR’S NOTE: The Martin Chronicles has also obtained a copy of the first round of Special Counsel Interrogatories that were hand-delivered to Mayor Martin on February 7. We will be sharing them with you in upcoming posts. Martin has 30 days to respond.]
