Remember,
Toad McMurtry is the malfeasant Martin’s personal
attorney. How can an appointment of McMurtry to also serve as City Attorney
represent anything but a colossal conflict of interest? No wonder at least two
council members stated they disagreed with Martin’s choice for the new City
Attorney. We understand why if the reports of Toad McMurtry’s appointment are
correct.
Our
reporters have talked to a number of people who know McMurtry. And-how best to say it-well, no one has very
much good at all to report about McMurtry.
You may
recall that the courts handed McMurtry’s head to him as a result of his losing
lawsuit against Sanitation District No. 1. Just consider the result of
McMurtry’s defense of the misconducting Martin during last year’s removal
hearing. Martin was found GUILTY on
seven of nine charges of OFFICIAL
MISCONDUCT and NEGLECT OF DUTY.
Martin avoided removal from office by relying on the mean-spirited lunacy of
former Councilman Mike Pope and the deal the malingering mayor struck with
former-one-term-councilman-failed-State-Senate-candidate-arrested-for-running-a-police-barricade-recently-blasted-helping-underpriviliged-children-in-an-editorial
Jim Noll.
Toad
McMurtry called Police Chief Dan Goodenough “a liar” and condemned the chief
for not advising Martin for not letting the misconducting mayor know that it
was not okay to break the law. McMurtry falsely portrayed Detective Joe
Schutzman rightful pay as “a bonus” despite THE FACT that the Kentucky Labor Department decided that Schutzman was owed the money. Why? Because
Schutzman worked the hours claimed. Worse yet? McMurtry falsely maintained that
Schutzman “planted evidence” and even called the policeman “a baboon”. What a
disgrace.
So how can
the taxpayers know? Is Martin getting personal legal advice from Toad McMurtry at their
expense? McMurtry is Martin’s personal attorney, after all. McMurtry is totally
conflicted out. Surely, Martin has not named Toad McMurtry-his personal attorney-to severe as the TAXPAYER-FUNDED CITY ATTORNEY.
For all of
the people who have supported Martin during these past twenty seven-plus
tumultuous months-the civic club ass
clowns, the Tea Party extremists, the members of St. Jokers’ Heavy Drinking
Men’s Society, the neo-Nazis, the gun
nuts, the burgeoning hillbilly voting bloc and EDDIE-they have to know that if Martin has named his PERSONAL ATTORNEY as CITY ATTORNEY, that is clearly WRONG.
