Who's Next?

The Martin Chronicles is still re-hashing last week's City Council meeting/fiasco. As we sift through our notes on the entire meeting we continue to find so many nuggets. We know what many of you are thinking. "Hey, it's (Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike) Martin. So all of those nuggets are Fool's Gold." And we most certainly agree. But all those nuggets are also quite revealing.

How about another interesting tidbit? Some on council were pressing the mallet-headed Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry about the law regarding Civil Service Commissions recently passed by the Kentucky Legislature. McMurtry's reason for being unprepared? "I've been a bit preoccupied." But we're sure he'll be quite happy to bill the taxpayers to find the answers.

So what's going on? Well, one councilmember inadvertently blurted out-perhaps inadvertently-that there is yet another City employee who may be brought up on charges soon. Oh, really? Is that a fact? You don't say?

My, my, my. Does that mean that there is going to be yet another costly-to-the-taxpayers-Martin "kangaroo court"? Will the City be slapped with yet another wasteful lawsuit? Perhaps.

Don't you wonder who might be the target of the next Martin-mismanaged "hi-tech lynching"? Will yet another police officer be unfairly raked over Martin's cooked-up coals? Will one of the poor public works crew face Martin's mindless wrath? Hey, maybe one of Martin's grossly-overpaid and embarrassingly-underperforming administrative drones will take a turn in the hateful Martin's hot seat? Who knows?

Will we hear Martin's mindless excuses yet again? Will Martin yet again whimper that the taxpayers just don't pay him enough to do his job? Most likely.

One thing we do know. Whatever might happen will cost the taxpayers another fortune and be completely dishonest. Remember the prelude to the last spectacle? The mendacious Martin gleefully lied through his teeth telling the local television stations that former Police Chief Dan Goodenough was just "taking a few days off". This after Martin and his personal-and now City-Attorney Toad V. McMurtry had presented Goodenough with their crazy version of Hobson's Choice.

Then we saw "Craigory" take the stand and spin tales of all of the alleged "problems" for which his boss Martin should not be held accountable. Oh, yeah. We also got to watch Martin's personal-and now City-Attorney Todd V. McMurtry grill every witness about The Martin Chronicles. What a shameful waste of taxpayer money.

This whole mess in Villa Hills City Government is an unnecessary embarrassment. The inattentive voters gave Martin a razor-thin victory way back in 2010. And doesn't that now seem like a bazillion years ago? What has happened since has been a humbling humiliation, no matter how many bonfires the civic club asshats ignite.

But democracy gives the voters another chance to fix that dreadful, 2010 "lapse in judgment". The voters will have the chance to toss the corrupt and incompetent Martin out on his ass on November 4.

That chance is only 151 days away.
