Several sources confirm that the collection of the UNFAIR VILLA HILLS $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX by Steve Arlinghaus’ County Courtesans is not going well at all. Based on the current rate of non-compliance, UNFAIR VILLA HILLS $40 STICKER TAX collections may be down as much as a shocking NEARLY 30% from 2010!! They may as well repeal the (EXPLETIVE) thing and quit embarrassing themselves. Instead, look for a Martin/Kilburn-generated lawsuit being sent to many neighbors near you very soon! Hey, before this is all over, Martin and Kilburn may start bringing scofflaws in for a good old fashioned pistol-whipping.
Don’t feel too bad if you were one of the rapidly-shrinking numbers of people who actually paid the UNFAIR VILLA HILLS $40 PER CAR STICKER TAX when you went to the Court House to renew your auto registration. Wait a minute. Hold on. Never mind. Go ahead and feel bad. Just what were you thinking when you paid?!?! You got hosed! You had better remember this November.
Not surprisingly, $47.50 per hour Martin-crony-hire clerk/bookkeeper Cordelia Schaber re-posted her comment to a recent ill-informed Letter to the Editor. Why do we say “not surprisingly”? Because we knew we could goad her in to re-posting it by taking credit for the fact she took it down. Now it will be far easier for council to make the case for her removal. City employees-even contract employees-jump into the political fray at their own great risk. Geez, these goobers are easy to “game”, aren’t they?
Our sources at the Department of Labor confirm that Mayor Martin’s overtime bungling very nearly cost the taxpayers another $130K in fines and penalties over and above what has grown to the nearly $175K he has squandered through his dreadful mismanagement of the police department overtime. The intervention of others prevented the even costlier disaster. So if at some point you hear Martin claiming that he saved the taxpayers $130K, well, he’s lying. There’s a big surprise, huh?
By the way, one Department of Labor operative told the Martin Chronicles on condition of anonymity that he was “convinced Martin didn’t understand one single thing he was being told”. The operative speculated that perhaps Martin does a lot of indoor home improvement work using lead-based paints in unventilated areas. Maybe that explains it.
While we are on the subject of Martin’s decimation of the Villa Hills Police Department, has anyone seen the seventh police officer Martin claimed he hired at the last council meeting? Somebody? Anybody? Hello? A little help here? We can only surmise that Martin has fouled up this hire as well.
In the meantime, The Martin Chronicles suggests you continue to barricade your doors and windows and puuuuh-LEASE do not return those giant floodlights to Art’s Rental until the current crime wave subsides. Worst case that should happen in January, 2015. But we think it will be far sooner than that!
