What's The Frequency, Martin?

The Martin Chronicles listens to Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin offer up his explanations for all of the truly inexplicable things he has done and continues to do and wonders if he believes what he's saying. If he does,  Martin fits the classic definition of PATHOLOGICAL LIAR perfectly.

How many different versions of his efforts to push his radical plan to disband the Villa Hills Police Department and contract with another City for (LESS SAFE) protection is Martin going to tell? Just read Martin's own words spewed in just the the past two months-in the order he spewed them:
  • "I was approached by four different Cities."
  • "I approached four different Cities."
  • "I haven't met with anyone yet."
  • "I just remembered that I have meet with four different Cities and Kenton County."
  • "The decision's been made."
  • "We aren't going to do anything until at least August. Maybe later."
  • "I promise I'll come to council before I move forward to "outsource" police protection."
  • "I am going to outsource police protection to have more money to repair streets."
  • "I'm going to form a committee to look at outsourcing and hope to make a decision this fall."

Is Martin just a pathological liar? Has he completely slipped the surly bounds of reality? Or, is Martin just a little, tin pot dictator who is simply going to do whatever he wants.

It might be funny if it wasn't so serious.

What's it all about then?

Councilman Jim Cahill was quite clear about his opposition to Martin's radical plan to disband the police department at last week's public hearing. We are happy to see that. Cahill doesn't seem to be at all clear about the source of all of the turmoil however. That is a bit confusing and disappointing.

Who does Cahill think is responsible for the push for "outsourcing"? Who does Cahill think had been LYING about his plan for "outsourcing" until he was tripped up by a cub reporterette?

C'mon Councilman Cahill. Of course it is about Martin.

FUNFEST? Seriously?

First of all, we support the troops and 911 memorial efforts. That isn't the point. The point is, if Mike Martin believes Villa Hills cannot afford to operate its own police department, why is he spending EVEN ONE PENNY co-presenting a flippin'  FUNFEST? Why is he even opening the City to even the possibility of spending EVEN ONE PENNY? Live Bands? Fireworks? Fun for the kids?

HOW ABOUT FUNDING A FULLY-STAFFED POLICE DEPARTMENT? Where in the world are Martin's PRIORITIES?
