It gets worse. Martin's right-hand man Mike Pope revealed their plans to spend ONE MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR on street repair. How will MarTAX and PopeTAX collect the money? By ASSESSING homeowners for the cost of repairing their streets. What does that mean? Homeowners will have the cost of fixing their streets ADDED TO THEIR PROPERTY TAX BILL. This after you approve their massive proposed tax increase!!
What makes it more outrageous is that Martin has been on a ridiculous spending spree!
- Martin has hired two more clerks, who happen to be friends of his, bringing the total to four. The two new clerks make a combined hourly rate of $62.50 per hour!
- Martin has hired two computer companies and a company just to manage the city website!
- Martin's decision to reduce the size of the police department has led to an explosion of OVERTIME. Sources say that some officers are working more than TWENTY HOURS OF OVERTIME A WEEK!!
- INSTEAD OF FIXING YOUR STREET THIS YEAR, Martin wasted thousands of dollars of YOUR MONEY to build a concrete parking lot at the city building!
- Martin and Pope paid the city engineer a fortune in YOUR MONEY to do a street repair plan stretching to the year 2200! This despite the fact they did no street repair this year!!
- Martin's ineptitude has led to a HUGE INCREASE IN A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY in legal fees!!
- Martin is funneling YOUR MONEY to his cronies for city contracts for all kinds of things including fire extinguishers!
- Pope and even Martin voted to use YOUR MONEY to hire a mediator. Why? To try to gloss over Martin's unprofessionalism and abject lack of leadership ability!
