Muddy Waters

The Martin Chronicles isn't writing about the famed blues musician who brought the world such hits as "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "Rollin' Stone". Even so, we do think malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's Villa Hills has a severe case of the blues at the moment. Most residents aren't even sure why they have that low feeling. There is a reason for that. It's because Martin has been launching deception after deception after deception. Why? Because Martin is hoping that the waters are so muddied that the discouraged-and confused-voters will toss out all of his "enemies" in the upcoming council election.

Much like one of his predecessors Steve Clark, Martin has been aggressively attempting to deflect attention away from his serial misconduct and neglect of duty by slinging mud at all of his "enemies". It seems to be having some effect. Not-all-that-bright people who are still fairly respected in the community have jumped to Shorty's defense. One went so far as to make the wild claim that "75% of the residents support Martin". The only place you might be able to find 75% support for the mendacious Martin is at that cesspool laughingly called a Civic Club.

Remember Martin's "BOMBSHELL" about Tim Sogar? Martin made the wild-and baseless-claim that Mr. Sogar needed an Occupational License. Why would Martin do that? Because Martin wants people to think that his illegal business practices are just fine. After all, nobody buys an Occupational License. The Little CEO even had bilious blowhard County Boss Steve Arlinghaus make the imperious announcement that he didn't think that an Occupational License was "a big deal" at a council meeting. We are quite sure that all of the honest business owners who do secure an Occupational License were happy to hear Arlinghaus' pronouncement.

Then there was Martin's April "Note To Villa Hills Residents". That lie-filled screed was distributed door-to-door by Martin's obese hillbilly lynchmob for just one deceitful reason. Why? Because the presentation of Special Counsel's findings in to Martin's misconduct and neglect of duty was just days away. Martin's goal? To paint a false picture that Shorty was just a poor little fellow who was dealt a bad hand when all he wanted to do was help the residents.

Martin was called out for those lies at the July council meeting. He looked very bad being caught in those lies. You always know when The Little Man From Norwood is in trouble. His voice breaks and goes up several octaves. You've seen it before. You will see it again.

So what's next? Well, City Council scheduled a removal hearing for October 8. So look for the mud and game-playing to get ramped up again.

We wouldn't be at all surprised if the hillbilly lynch mob shows up in strength at this Wednesday's City Council meeting. Their goal? To browbeat and harass the City Council. Do they hope to change any minds? No. These hillbillies simply hope to provoke their targets in to a public display of anger. Why? So that they can tell the world, "See. We told you these Councilmembers are hostile to Shorty and us. They just don't like us. It's all personal. Wasted money. It's because he's not Catholic. It's a witch hunt. BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH."

Council must not take the bait. They should simply acknowledge the differing views and encourage people to attend the removal hearing to get the facts. This despite the other key fact that the Martinites aren't even remotely interested in the truth. They are simply trying to save Shorty's bacon.

What else is happening? Sources at the Court House and the City of Bromley have told us that Mrs. Mayor and others have been on site looking for dirt on more of The Little Fella's "enemies". Once again, this is eerily similar to what took place when former Mayor Steve Clark was under investigation.

It was extremely ugly then. It's far more ugly now.
