It Makes You Wonder

The Martin Chronicles is braced for the latest episode of As Martin's World Turns, aka the Villa Hills City Council Meeting. The show rolls beginning at 7PM tonight. As has been the case since Shorty took the helm in January 2011, it should be another three-ring circus. Or, perhaps a five-sided octagon.

First, we expect the Martinites to make a smug-simpleton spectacle of themselves during the "public comment" portion of the meeting. We wonder if anyone who actually believes Martin should be expected to obey the law will ask questions? It wouldn't matter anyway.

Once upon a time, The Little Man From Norwood wouldn't answer questions from council members or the public. Why? Because he is the megalomaniacal "CEO" who thinks he can do whatever he wants.

Today it's quite different. Now The High Priest of The Branch Norwoodians can't answer questions from councilmembers, the public or Special Counsel. Why? Because Shorty is facing serious legal problems that truth-telling would only make worse. Besides, we aren't sure if Martin would recognize the truth if it bit him in the (EXPLETIVE).

We do know that the soon-to-be-departing Councilschmuck Mike Pope is also planning to do something that City Attorney Mike Duncan already told him he could not. What might that be? Try to force a vote to disband the City's Civil Service Commission.

Why would Councilschmoe Pope ignore Duncan's counsel and press ahead? That's easy. He is trying to create a campaign issue he believes will benefit Martinite council candidates Dale Schaber, Mary "Pick Corky Brown's brain and get rid of him" Koening, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger, Brian Wischer, Herman Goering and Jim Cahill.

These pusillanimous phonies will then pledge, if elected, to disband the Civil Service Commission in an attempt to "free-up" Shorty to finally be able to enact his agenda. These Martinite candidates are most likely correctly banking on the sad fact that government-hating voters would support them. After all, these Liberty Leaguers and home-schoolers don't want to pay a dime more in taxes, but their streets better be completely clear of snow when they leave for work at 6AM!!!

Why else would Shorty and Councilfreak Pope want to eliminate the Civil Service Commission? Several sources say that both Shorty and Mrs. Shorty are very upset with Police Chief Dan Goodenough. Why? Because Chief Goodenough has not been willing to turn a blind eye to The Little Man from Norwood's misconduct and neglect of duty.

Worse yet, Chief Goodenough dared to be more concerned about public safety than the Martin hillbilly lynchmob's plans to disrupt last Friday's special meeting. Remember, Martin and one of his chief henchman were overheard discussing Goodenough's termination at that meeting.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
