Why Council Should Move Ahead

The Martin Chronicles understands the concern some on Villa Hills City Council may have about moving forward with a removal hearing. But only to a degree. We guess they want to be careful not to jeopardize the taxpayers in any current-or pending-lawsuits against Mayor-and miscreant-Mike Martin and the City.

Does the council think that the taxpayers are in any less jeopardy with each passing day having Martin's corrupt and incompetent hind end parked in the mayor's office? We certainly don't. Why? Because we see the mess "The Little Man From Norwood" has already created in his nineteen dreadful months in office. It's not going to get any better.

Council may want to disabuse themselves of any notion that Martin will resign as well. As long as the pinheads at that rat's nest called a Civic Club continue to whisper sweet-nothings in Martin's ear he will never bow out. No matter the potential damage to the taxpayers. Being "CEO" is the biggest thing to ever happen in Martin's life. Despite the catastrophe he has caused.

Oh, and there is the little matter of him not walking away from his taxpayer-funded legal defense. He's a dolt. But he does have some brain waves bouncing around in that thick skull.

The public has the right to hear Martin's explanations for this abject disaster. "The Little CEO" will have two choices at a removal hearing. He can either lie under oath or he can invoke his right against self-incrimination. Either way, the media will cover it like a thick, wool blanket.

Some fret that Councilmen Mike Pope and Jim Noll are too enamored with Martin to ever vote to remove him. Our response? So the (EXPLETIVE) what?!?! Let them go on the record in support of criminal behavior. Let them go on the record saying official misconduct doesn't matter. Let them vote to endorse the fraud and deceit that has exemplified Martin's term in office. The rest of council can sleep well at night knowing that the truth was laid before the public.

Whether the public cared or not.
