Global Warming News And Notes

The Martin Chronicles wonders if the "Mayor Martin Please Resign Now" thieves did enlist the services of Spiderman to steal the 4' x 8' banner that was in the large pine trees at the corner of Buttermilk and Western Reserve? The banner is missing. If so, these bandits are very determined First Amendment squelchers. If not, we'll try to learn what happened.

Speaking of signs, our reporters have been unable to locate the alleged large "MARTIN LAWBREAKER!" sign sources advised us of yesterday. A Facebook poster reportedly saw it. We'll spend some more time today trying to track it down. One wag quipped, "Why not just put up a sign that says, 'THE SUN CAME UP TODAY!'?" We agree. It's equally obvious.

Next up, multiple sources say that Villa Hills Councilman Tim Sogar feels as if he was thrown under the proverbial bus at the last council meeting. It appears the three other "pro-even-the-mayor-should-obey-the-law" councilmen knew something that Mr. Sogar was not privy to. Honestly, we can't blame him if he is more than a little hot under the collar. Especially in this weather.

Is the council preparing to prefer charges against Martin in preparation for a removal hearing? If so, we suspect they may want to do it soon. Why? Because the vacuum created by no news is being filled by a steady-and false-drumbeat by Martin and his cohorts that the council spent taxpayer money just to send Special Counsel on that dreaded witch hunt.

Just for the record, we know that isn't the case. There is no witch hunt. Bilious Blowhard County Boss Steve Arlinghaus has always been wrong about that. But people are waiting to see the evidence.

131 days and counting. The clock is ticking. Quickly.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Has Councilmashugana Mike Pope changed his mind about resigning? Yet ANOTHER flip-flop? We continue to investigate.]
