Our First Post Election Analysis

The Martin Chronicles has begun to closely analyze the Villa Hills poll numbers and some undeniable facts jump right off the stat sheets. The most obvious undeniable fact is that November 4, 2014 has been an absolutely overwhelming repudiation of now-outgoing malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin.

If you have not seen the numbers yet, you will now. Martin suffered a staggering defeat. It was a total rebuke of Martin's last four, dreadful years in the mayor's office. Martin barely received 15% of the total votes cast for mayor. Barely 15%. That is an historic defeat for an incumbent mayor in a Kentucky City of the Fourth Class. In fact, our researchers are trying to find a more embarrassing defeat of an incumbent mayor-anywhere, ever.

Here are the numbers. There were 3224 votes cast for mayor in Villa Hills today. Martin received only 514 of those votes. Only 514. That is incredible. It tells us that a very large segment of Villa Hills' residents actually have been paying attention to Martin's corruption and incompetence.

Just how bad was Martin's embarrassing defeat? Consider this. Former council candidate Tim Sogar withdrew from the council race several weeks ago. But, his name was still on today's ballot. Sogar actually received 65+% more votes than the malfeasant Martin. This despite the fact that Sogar wasn't even a candidate. That is almost unbelievable. That is truly an embarrassing repudiation of the malfeasant Martin.

The second-most undeniable fact is that Martin's corrupt and incompetent stench had some very large negative coattails. The numbers couldn't be more clear. Only the math of just nine candidates running for six council spots prevented every member of "The Martin Five" from joining the malfeasant Martin in the dustbin of political history.

The four candidates who took an absolute, unfair, dishonest beating by the malfeasant Martin and his electioneering surrogates took the top four council spots. Waugaman, Ringo, Kilburn and Bruns overcame Martin's "dirty tricks" and won. Only two of "The Martin Five" will occupy the remaining seats. The only thing that saved Koenig and Yost-Vaden was the fact that two more candidates weren't in the council race.

The invisible Summer Berger, the boo-bird Dave Hilgefraud and the mysterious Brian Wischer went down to resounding defeat. The city will be better off for that fact.

Much more election analysis to come.
