Hump Day Quickies

The Martin Chronicles morning staff meeting went longer than normal. We are in the process of finalizing a story about more waste, fraud and abuse in malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's Villa Hills.
A few observations from this morning's meeting.

Martin's monthly secret Villa Hills Council Meeting (aka "untelevised caucus") will be held this evening. Will the diminutive dictator announce that he has vetoed his budget? Remember, Martin has been considering a veto because council dared to try to rein in his skyrocketing spending on attorneys and lawsuits.

Martin once claimed to be "Mr. Transparency". While most can now see right through him, he remains a secretive liar. Want another example? Martin has yet to request that the TBNK update its public service announcement listing the date of the live broadcast of the monthly non-secret meeting. As you know, the date was changed to accommodate City Attorney Toad V. McMurtry several months ago. Of course Martin will blame the TBNK. Why? Because he is a rotten little bastard.

Speaking of Toad V. McMurtry, we recall how he advised everyone to communicate with him via e-mail at a recent meeting. Given the latest news that McMurtry refuses to respond to the phone and e-mail inquiries from Assistant Chief Joe Schutzman's attorney, we have one thing to say. Good luck everybody.

Given the whirlwind of legal action Martin has generated, look for yet another "executive session" tonight. Ironic, isn't it? A secret meeting being held at a secret meeting.

Oh, what lies Martin must tell behind closed doors.
