The Word On The Street

The Martin Chronicles began publishing almost a year ago. Over that time we have hosted nearly 60,000 unique visits. We recognize that our success is a direct result of the appalling mess made by Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin. So be it. We have also carefully cultivated numerous reliable sources who keep us up-to-date on Shorty's shenanigans.

Here is some of what we are hearing from our sources:

  • The Little Man From Norwood has "lawyered up". Stripped of his taxpayer-funded legal counsel, Martin has retained the services of the large, regional firm Thompson Hine. Before anyone begins to fret that Shorty will have to pay a fortune for his defense, we are hearing that the "Let's Save Martin's Biscuits" slate of Dale Schaber, Mary Koening, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger, Brian Wischer, Herman Goering and Jim Cahill have told the malfeasant mayor to relax. Several sources tell us that these six have pledged that they will vote to have the taxpayers pick up the legal tab come January 1, 2013.
  • We have learned that several current City employees, an elected official and a former City employee have been subpoenaed to testify at the Martin Removal Hearing that begins Monday, October 8. It is not clear if they all intend to comply with the subpoenas. If some do not comply they will be handing the media a tremendous new story line. It will go something like, "What are they hiding?"
  • Insiders have revealed that even more evidence has been obtained of Martin's ongoing destruction of City records. While the Martinites will continue to shrug their shoulders at this serious misconduct, evidence will demonstrate that what took place was far more than "burning some papers".
  • The buzz is that a growing number of residents are finally beginning to assign the blame for the cost of the Special Counsel investigation exactly where it belongs. Where is that? In Mike Martin's lap. Residents are wondering out loud why Martin didn't just sit down with Special Counsel many months ago to clear up any concerns. That is, of course, unless Martin has something to hide.
  • On a slightly lighter note, word has reached us that local bookies are taking action on how many times Councilman Mike Pope will storm out of the upcoming removal hearing. The current over/under is nine.

Supporting The Truth

The Martin Chronicles is watching and listening to the goings-on in and around embarrassed and embattled Villa Hills. Just like you, we hear questions from council members and confused residents. Just like you, we hear discredited excuses from Villa Hills' malfeasant Mayor Martin and his entourage. Just like you, we hear lie after lie after lie from the mendacious Martin as he tries to divert attention away from his misconduct and neglect of duty. Want just a few examples?
  • "I called a locksmith before ordering the improper destruction of City property."
  • "The temporary clerk doesn't need to be bonded because she doesn't handle money."
  • "I have no idea who printed the Pro-Road Tax flyer and distributed it in the Voice of Villa Hills."
  • "I'll make sure the clerks get the necessary training to fill Open Records requests."
  • "The list I provided council includes every document burned on January 6."
  • "The files on the computer in the mayor's office were erased on December 27, 2010."
  • "I was never given the opportunity to sit down with Phil Taliaferro's company."
  • "I will go door-to-door to explain my reasons for not hiring the eighth police officer to the residents."
  • "I wasn't in the City Building when the interim City Clerk violated a Judge's direct order from the bench and Villa Hills' Ethics Ordinance when she used a City shredder to destroy personal documents from home."
Interestingly, Martin and his supporters no longer makes the claim Shorty has done nothing wrong. Instead, they all repeatedly say council doesn't "have the votes" to remove The Little Man From Norwood. We can only guess that even the most brazen liar has limits.

The Martinites and their leader are also desperately trying to "run out the clock". They hope the upcoming council election will surround Shorty with cronies like Dale Schaber, Mary Koening, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger, Brian Wischer, Herman Goering and Jim Cahill and deliver The Little CEO from evil.

Most residents simply support THE TRUTH. Since Martin-and others- have stubbornly refused to clear everything up with Special Counsel we are left with the hope that the removal hearing will DELIVER THE TRUTH.

Finally.

Knockin' 'Em Down

The Martin Chronicles has spent our last few posts addressing the tired excuses offered up by the Martinites for their hero’s malfeasance. You see, the Martinites are trying to delegitimize the upcoming removal hearing.

We have demonstrated that the sole culprit for the cost of the investigation is Martin himself. First, because his misconduct and neglect of duty triggered the investigation. Second, Martin’s indefensible refusal to sit down with Special Counsel to explain the many questions Shorty’s behavior has raised has stalled an investigation that could have been over in just  a few weeks into nearly a dreadful year. We have all witnessed the spectacle of Special Counsel trying to deal with Martin’s tap-dancing, back-flipping, lie-telling, spinning, shucking and jiving.

We have also dismantled the Martinites’ specious argument that City Council “just doesn’t like” Martin. Plainly, that argument is designed to divert attention away from Martin’s misconduct and neglect of duty. Most people do not believe that a mayor-or any other elected official-is above the law. The questions raised by Martin’s behavior should be answered.

So what is the next defense? Well, Martinites complain that Martin shouldn’t be investigated for his personal business practices.

First, a careful review of the nine charges that have been preferred against Martin shows that Martin’s personal business practices are not included. So once again, that Martinites’ argument is completely baseless.

But Martin’s business practices do provide a look into his character. We have reported about electrical work that Martin did and for which he charged the Villa Hills Civic Club. Why is that important? Because Martin does not have the proper State licenses to do such work.

Remember, Martin took an oath to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. How can Martin enforce those laws that prohibit unlicensed gypsy contractors from cutting corners when he is cutting those same corners himself? The obvious answer is that he cannot.

Look, we get it. There is a significant minority-certainly not 75% of Villa Hills residents that a delusional supporter claims-who are bedazzled by Martin. As we have written, these people just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that this charitable golfing elf is constantly breaking the law. How can a fellow who goes to Haiti, does charity work for the 911 Memorial, Lions and others and leaves church to unclog someone's toilet be a lawbreaker? While these people can’t comprehend it, the media reports about these hypocrites all of the time.

[EDITOR’S NOTE: As if on cue, Martinites emulated their hero this weekend by skirting the law. How so? By placing “Council Please Resign Now” signs in a few illegal places around the City. We can only guess that they didn’t want the signs to go to waste in their garage. The fact that they broke the law to get them out tells everyone else all they need to know.]

Weekend Preview: Don't Look At The Man Behind The Curtain

The Martin Chronicles continues to examine the lines of defense employed by the Martinites. As we posted yesterday, many of those lines were trotted out by the Martinites in the audience at Wednesday's council meeting.

We have already dissected and dispensed with "Why are you spending so much money on this investigation?" We have heard Martin describe the investigation as "a witch hunt with a big price tag". But of course we know that most of the "price tag" Martin whines about is the direct result of his stubborn-and inexplicable if he has done nothing wrong-refusal to sit down with Special Counsel to answer the many legitimate questions that have been raised.

The next smoke screen we are going to clear away is the wild claim that "those four on council just don't like Martin". Designed to generate sympathy for Shorty, that excuse is truly a bucket without a bottom.

Here are just a few of the real questions.
  • Why did Martin choose to rush and crush open the City safe with a back hoe? Why didn't he listen to Chief Goodenough's request to "wait a couple of days" to get the combination? What was so urgent that Martin chose to improperly destroy City property?
  • Why does the City seem chronically unable to fill Open Records requests as mandated by State Statute? If it is truly just a lack of know-how, why hasn't Martin provided training opportunities for the City's clerks?
  • Why were City records burned on January 6, 2011? Are we to believe that an untrained, temporary clerk who was brought in "to help with tax season" took it upon herself to destroy a truck load of City records? Are we to believe that a judge's ruling just a few days before-making those City records potential evidence in a lawsuit-was totally coincidental?
  • Given the fact that Martin insists he must (improperly) review all Open Records requests prior to their release because of "legal concerns", are we to believe that Martin took no proper precautions to review the records the temporary clerk had identified for burning? Martin can't claim he wasn't aware it was happening. How do we know this? Because we know that the Public Works Director advised Martin that the burning was taking place.
  • How could interim City Clerk Sue Bree think it was okay to supposedly bring her personal documents to work to shred on taxpayer-funded equipment? Hadn't she received any training yet? Wasn't she aware of Judge Patricia Summe's order directly from the bench not to destroy any more documents? Wasn't Ms. Bree aware that Martin himself had been reprimanded by the City's Ethics Board for doing the same thing? Why hasn't Martin disciplined Ms. Bree for such reckless conduct?
It's Martin's actions that need to be explained. The hearing is necessary because Martin refuses to lay out the facts. Sure, some on council may not like Martin. We suspect most in law enforcement don't like the criminals they are investigating either. That doesn't make those criminals any less guilty.

Reasonable, fair-minded people understand that these are important questions. Yes, they are tired of the turmoil. But they also believe that Martin IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW. These reasonable people also believe an honest accounting of Martin's conduct is necessary.

But The Martin Chronicles gets it. We understand why Larry and Tony and Leo and Eddie and Sharon and Jay and Scott and Bill and Bob and Donna and General Zod and all the rest have such difficulty seeing things the way they really are. We know why they make illogical arguments in defense of Martin. For those who saw Martin as this bumbling but charitable little golfing elf, learning that he has been demonstrating total disregard for the law for years has got to be very tough.

It must be like learning that there is no Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Great Pumpkin or Wizard of Oz all on the same day.

It's Just That Obvious

The Martin Chronicles enjoyed watching the smattering of Martinites who came to the podium to attack City Council at last night's monthly meeting. It was obvious that Martin completely disregarded his own three-minute-per-person-limit rule to make comment.  It was even more obvious that Martin had only prepped these vine-swingers "one layer deep".

How so? Well, each pre-prepped pinhead followed the same pattern.
  1. Make a statement that completely misses the point
  2. Wait for the "echo chamber" of applause by the other pre-prepped pinheads in the room
  3. Get asked a question from a council member
  4. Look back with a blank, Martinesque stare on their face
The Martin Chronicles staff has reviewed the Martinites' pointless comments/questions and ranked them in order of stupidity. Let's go right to the worst question.

Why are you spending so much money on this investigation?

C'mon people. Is that the best you've got? Because anyone with an IQ more than 70 knows council isn't responsible for the amount of money that has been spent on the investigation.

So who is? Well it's MARTIN of course. We know that all of the vine-swingers, armpit-scratchers, nose-pickers, flat-heads, crib-babies, mouth-breathers, log-thumpers, smoke-signallers and rumpot nitwits who populate places like the civic club go in to a frenzy when we say this. But too bad.

Let's put the timeline in its proper order:

FIRST - MARTIN'S official conduct raises several serious questions THAT HE WILL NOT ANSWER.
THEN - City Council votes to hire an attorney to search for the answer to those questions to protect the taxpayers from financial risk.

  • It is MARTIN himself who admitted at May's council meeting that he has been ignoring numerous requests from Special Counsel to sit down to clear up the many concerns that have been raised.
  • It is MARTIN who is giving multiple taxpayer-underwritten pay increases to the interim City Clerk to entice her to refuse to answer Special Counsel's questions.
  • It is MARTIN who is recruiting brainless hillbillies to disrupt meetings and bully council people.
  • It is MARTIN who has delayed and stalled and shucked and jived and tap danced and stonewalled and zig-zagged.

Look, this whole ordeal could have been over many, many months ago. How? MARTIN could have sat down with Special Counsel and simply told THE TRUTH.

Why do you think MARTIN hasn't told THE TRUTH. The answer is obvious.

Because MARTIN can't.

It Makes You Wonder

The Martin Chronicles is braced for the latest episode of As Martin's World Turns, aka the Villa Hills City Council Meeting. The show rolls beginning at 7PM tonight. As has been the case since Shorty took the helm in January 2011, it should be another three-ring circus. Or, perhaps a five-sided octagon.

First, we expect the Martinites to make a smug-simpleton spectacle of themselves during the "public comment" portion of the meeting. We wonder if anyone who actually believes Martin should be expected to obey the law will ask questions? It wouldn't matter anyway.

Once upon a time, The Little Man From Norwood wouldn't answer questions from council members or the public. Why? Because he is the megalomaniacal "CEO" who thinks he can do whatever he wants.

Today it's quite different. Now The High Priest of The Branch Norwoodians can't answer questions from councilmembers, the public or Special Counsel. Why? Because Shorty is facing serious legal problems that truth-telling would only make worse. Besides, we aren't sure if Martin would recognize the truth if it bit him in the (EXPLETIVE).

We do know that the soon-to-be-departing Councilschmuck Mike Pope is also planning to do something that City Attorney Mike Duncan already told him he could not. What might that be? Try to force a vote to disband the City's Civil Service Commission.

Why would Councilschmoe Pope ignore Duncan's counsel and press ahead? That's easy. He is trying to create a campaign issue he believes will benefit Martinite council candidates Dale Schaber, Mary "Pick Corky Brown's brain and get rid of him" Koening, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger, Brian Wischer, Herman Goering and Jim Cahill.

These pusillanimous phonies will then pledge, if elected, to disband the Civil Service Commission in an attempt to "free-up" Shorty to finally be able to enact his agenda. These Martinite candidates are most likely correctly banking on the sad fact that government-hating voters would support them. After all, these Liberty Leaguers and home-schoolers don't want to pay a dime more in taxes, but their streets better be completely clear of snow when they leave for work at 6AM!!!

Why else would Shorty and Councilfreak Pope want to eliminate the Civil Service Commission? Several sources say that both Shorty and Mrs. Shorty are very upset with Police Chief Dan Goodenough. Why? Because Chief Goodenough has not been willing to turn a blind eye to The Little Man from Norwood's misconduct and neglect of duty.

Worse yet, Chief Goodenough dared to be more concerned about public safety than the Martin hillbilly lynchmob's plans to disrupt last Friday's special meeting. Remember, Martin and one of his chief henchman were overheard discussing Goodenough's termination at that meeting.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Will It Happen Again?

The Martin Chronicles actually believes that there are a number of people involved with the Villa Hills Civic Club whose hearts are in the right place. These people envision a friendly, community place for people of all ages to gather. It's a great idea. It's also an idea that isn't working all that well right now.

Why?  A large part of the problem is the group that populates the Civic Club bar virtually every night derisively called "Dead Pecker's Row". These vine-swinging mouth-breathers sit around spreading lies, hate and discontent night after miserable night. They also make everyone else who may wander in to the bar feel very unwelcome. Unless of course they are willing to swear a blood oath to malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin.

Sources tell us that the Civic Club is planning another "Meet the Candidates" night some time in October. Boy howdy, is that great news! Will it be the 2012 version of the disgraceful HILLBILLY HOEDOWN that was held just two years ago? Given the fact that "Dead Pecker's Row" is fielding its' very own candidate this year-Martin chief henchman and co-defendant in a LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION LAWSUIT- Dale Schaber, this "forum" could very well be AN EVEN BIGGER DISGRACE.

Unfortunately, this is so predictable. The Martinites will fill the Civic Club with their liquored-up cronies, prepped to ask falsely-framed questions designed to embarrass and intimidate Martin's "enemies". For instance:
  • How can you justify wasting so much money on this mean-spirited witch hunt against such a wonderful person like Mayor Martin?
  • Given the fact that there are terrific candidates like Dale Schaber, Mary Koening, Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger, Brian Wischer, Herman Goering and Jim Cahill running, why have you even bothered to try to run for re-election?
  • How can you sleep at night when you are unfairly persecuting a great man who goes to Haiti, belongs to the Lions, leaves church to unclog toilets and is president and sole member of the Villa Hills Historical Society?
  • Why do you refuse to work with Mayor Martin when at least 75% of the people of Villa Hills worship him?
  • Mayor Martin has found $30,000 three times. How much money have you found?
  • Do you have an Occupational License? Do ya? Well, do ya? Huh? Huh?
Despite the ugly mess this forum will surely be, we plan to attend. How about you? Well, we say, "Don't wait for the call. Mount up and ride to the sound of the gunfire!"

Muddy Waters

The Martin Chronicles isn't writing about the famed blues musician who brought the world such hits as "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "Rollin' Stone". Even so, we do think malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's Villa Hills has a severe case of the blues at the moment. Most residents aren't even sure why they have that low feeling. There is a reason for that. It's because Martin has been launching deception after deception after deception. Why? Because Martin is hoping that the waters are so muddied that the discouraged-and confused-voters will toss out all of his "enemies" in the upcoming council election.

Much like one of his predecessors Steve Clark, Martin has been aggressively attempting to deflect attention away from his serial misconduct and neglect of duty by slinging mud at all of his "enemies". It seems to be having some effect. Not-all-that-bright people who are still fairly respected in the community have jumped to Shorty's defense. One went so far as to make the wild claim that "75% of the residents support Martin". The only place you might be able to find 75% support for the mendacious Martin is at that cesspool laughingly called a Civic Club.

Remember Martin's "BOMBSHELL" about Tim Sogar? Martin made the wild-and baseless-claim that Mr. Sogar needed an Occupational License. Why would Martin do that? Because Martin wants people to think that his illegal business practices are just fine. After all, nobody buys an Occupational License. The Little CEO even had bilious blowhard County Boss Steve Arlinghaus make the imperious announcement that he didn't think that an Occupational License was "a big deal" at a council meeting. We are quite sure that all of the honest business owners who do secure an Occupational License were happy to hear Arlinghaus' pronouncement.

Then there was Martin's April "Note To Villa Hills Residents". That lie-filled screed was distributed door-to-door by Martin's obese hillbilly lynchmob for just one deceitful reason. Why? Because the presentation of Special Counsel's findings in to Martin's misconduct and neglect of duty was just days away. Martin's goal? To paint a false picture that Shorty was just a poor little fellow who was dealt a bad hand when all he wanted to do was help the residents.

Martin was called out for those lies at the July council meeting. He looked very bad being caught in those lies. You always know when The Little Man From Norwood is in trouble. His voice breaks and goes up several octaves. You've seen it before. You will see it again.

So what's next? Well, City Council scheduled a removal hearing for October 8. So look for the mud and game-playing to get ramped up again.

We wouldn't be at all surprised if the hillbilly lynch mob shows up in strength at this Wednesday's City Council meeting. Their goal? To browbeat and harass the City Council. Do they hope to change any minds? No. These hillbillies simply hope to provoke their targets in to a public display of anger. Why? So that they can tell the world, "See. We told you these Councilmembers are hostile to Shorty and us. They just don't like us. It's all personal. Wasted money. It's because he's not Catholic. It's a witch hunt. BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH."

Council must not take the bait. They should simply acknowledge the differing views and encourage people to attend the removal hearing to get the facts. This despite the other key fact that the Martinites aren't even remotely interested in the truth. They are simply trying to save Shorty's bacon.

What else is happening? Sources at the Court House and the City of Bromley have told us that Mrs. Mayor and others have been on site looking for dirt on more of The Little Fella's "enemies". Once again, this is eerily similar to what took place when former Mayor Steve Clark was under investigation.

It was extremely ugly then. It's far more ugly now.

No Free Pass

The Martin Chronicles listens to the excuses made by the apologists for Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin with amazement. The hand-wringers, bed-wetters, till-skimmers and moon-howlers are desperately trying to convince an increasingly skeptical citizenry that Shorty must be a great guy because he does charity work. Heck, even Special Counsel Phil Taliaferro oddly paid tribute to the mendacious Martin for his Haiti trips during an April 30 public meeting.

We are students of history. There are countless "bad actors" who were also known for their charitable work throughout the years. Their charity work did not provide them a free pass for their misconduct. The same should hold true for the malevolent Martin.

Here are just a few examples:

Al Capone - Yes, we know. Capone earned his money through boot-legging, gambling and prostitution. Okay, Capone was directly responsible for the murder of dozens of people. But he did donate some of his ill-gotten gains to widows and orphans. Capone died in prison.

John Gotti - The flamboyant-and murderous-"Teflon Don" was Boss of the Gambino Crime Family. He was also well-known for his incredible charitable acts. Interestingly enough, Gotti also died in prison.

Ted Bundy - Bundy was politically active. He was charming and well-liked. He was known for his philanthropy. Bundy was also a sociopathic serial killer. Bundy was executed in 1989 for the murders of dozens of people.

John Wayne Gacy - the notorious "Killer Clown" was beloved for his charity work in Chicago. That is, of course, before it was discovered that he brutally murdered at least 33 people. Gacy was executed in 1994.

Rod Blagojevich - Blagojevich was "The CEO" of Illinois. He helped pass legislation that provided much-need health care for countless underprivileged children. Blagojevich is now serving a lengthy prison term for various and sundry criminal offenses.

Our point? The next time one of Martin's acolytes tearfully recounts how Shorty left church early to come unclog their toilet you should simply say, "SO WHAT?!?!"

Digging A Little Deeper

The Martin Chronicles has spent some time digging a little deeper in to what took place at last Friday's Villa Hills City Council special meeting. Several media outlets have joined us in reporting that City Council preferred nine charges against malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin. The charges relate to Martin's misconduct and neglect of duty. If any of these charges are proven Martin could-and should-be removed from office.

Some observers opined that there was an almost "circus-like" atmosphere surrounding the meeting thanks in large part to the Martinites and other ill-informed residents who were in attendance. Here is some of the "color" from Friday's meeting.

An angry-looking Mrs. Mayor was flitting around the crowd with a camcorder. Several people commented that Mrs. Mayor's behavior was eerily reminiscent of what took place nearly a dozen years ago when another Villa Hills mayor found himself in hot water for some very serious misconduct. Her mission? Who knows? In fact, who cares?

What else? Well, there were the Martinites rolling out the same old, worn-out descriptions and excuses that were beaten in to the ground a dozen years ago. "Witch hunt". "Good old boys." "Wasted money." "They're just upset 'cause their guy lost." "BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH!" As we posted yesterday, these bamboozled Martinites look right past their hero's own misconduct, mismanagement and corruption.

Speaking of what took place a dozen years ago, one deluded woman was overheard explaining to the rabid Martinites that Steve Clark was forced out of office "because he wasn't Catholic"! We can only guess that she was suggesting that the Branch Norwoodian Martin is also a victim of some Catholic Inquisition. This despite the fact that three out of the four council members who voted to hold the removal hearing are not practicing Catholics. Hello? Is there anybody in there? How many fingers are we holding up? Dang bead--fiddlin' mackerel-snappers!

Next time try blaming the Masons . . . or the Bilderbergers . . . or the Lumanati . . . or the CIA . . . or the Men In Black. So now the Martinites believe that their hero is a target of the New World Order. Wow!

Some meeting-goers overheard an exchange that is far more shocking than some wing nut, anti-Vatican conspiracy theory. First, let's set the stage. Police Chief Dan Goodenough had extra police officers on hand for the meeting to protect everyone in attendance. Chief Goodenough advised Martin that the doors to the meeting chambers would not be opened until approximately 7 o'clock for safety reasons. Sources tell us that Martin went ballistic when he learned that bit of news. Why? We guess that these safety precautions would make it more difficult for the Martinites to make mischief.

So what happened? A disturbing exchange between Martin and one of his chief Civic Club henchman was overheard while Martin was fuming and whining about Chief Goodenough's wise safety precautions.

The venal Civic Club henchman was attempting to console Martin by telling him, "You should just go ahead and get rid of Goodenough if he isn't going to do what you tell him. THEN YOU CAN GO AHEAD WITH YOUR PLAN TO CONTRACT WITH ERLANGER FOR POLICE COVERAGE." The people who caught that exchange say that Martin was startled when he realized that he and his CIVIC CLUB henchman had been overheard.

Yes, this is very much like it was a dozen years ago. Bad. Very, very bad.

Paranoia: It Will Destroy Ya

The Martin Chronicles has been doing extensive research and interviewing to try to determine if the reports about the oddly suspicious minds of Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin and his merry band of paranoiacs are accurate. Based on what we have uncovered so far, the reports are quite accurate.

First up, Martin and others have told a tale that "dark forces" conspired against Shorty. How so? These "dark forces" trumped up forgery charges against Martin to derail his "good government" crusade. Many taxpayers believed this fable despite the fact that Martin was suing them for $1.505 MILLION. Four judges reviewed Martin's claims. Their conclusion? They tossed out Martin's lawsuit and stated that his actions represented the text book definition of forgery. Despite all of this, many Martin followers still believe The Little Fella's fabrication. Paranioa? Oh, yeah.

Next, sources tell us that Martin told a local reporter he would not talk with them because that reporter used to work with one of his "enemies". So Martin thinks a professional journalist's reporting was being swayed by an "enemy" who worked with the journalist many years before? Martin believes this journalist would risk their reputation and integrity to "get" Shorty? Paranoia? Oh, yeah.

Several sources tell us that Martin was furious at WCPO-TV for reporting that he intended to lay-off half the City employees as a result of his gross mismanagement of the City budget. Does Martin think that the media is out to "get" him simply because they are reporting exactly what he said at a council meeting? Paranoia? Oh, yeah.

We have also learned that Martin's paranoiacs have been peddling a theory that a recent council meeting was not broadcast LIVE on the local government channel in an attempt to aid more of Martin's "enemies". Evidently there are Martinites who believe that the employees of this local government channel would risk their careers in order to "get" The Little CEO. Paranoia? Oh, yeah.

The most recent example? The head of the Villa Hills' chapter of the Skinheads-a devoted Martinite-offered his conspiracy theory to the world of social networking with the baseless claim that even the Voice of Villa Hills website is biased against Martin. Paranoia? Oh, yeah.

The Martin Chronicles isn't surprised. In fact, we have several more examples to share with you in the days ahead. You see, megalomaniacs like Martin refuse to believe that anything they do could ever be wrong.

In Martin's and his followers' twisted minds, the problem isn't his illegal business practices, official misconduct and neglect of duty that are the issue. In their very odd view, the problem is with the people who dare to bring Martin's malfeasance and misfeasance to the light of day.

Martin and the smug simpletons that surround him go so far as to suggest that asking Martin to obey the law is akin to "tearing the City apart".

It is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

A Day For Remembrance

The Martin Chronicles thinks September 11th is a day for remembrance. It is also an excellent opportunity for parents to explain to their young children that the shocking events of eleven years ago clearly demonstrate how fragile our freedom can be.

Today is about the First Responders who did all the right things for all the right reasons. Today is about people who left for work that morning never to return. Today is about families left behind, struggling to find some meaning in such a senseless act of violence.

Today is not a day for political opportunism.

Alternate Realities

The Martin Chronicles believes Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin is banking that the same strategy once-Mayor Steve Clark unsuccessfully used in 2000 will pay off for him in 2012. For those who don't remember or haven't had the advantage of interviewing people who were around at the time, we'll explain.

A mayor serves a four-year term, council only two. Martin is counting on the people he has rallied to him combined with the folks who may be willing to do absolutely anything to end the embarrassment to wipe the slate clean of incumbents. The result? Martin thinks he will have two years of clear sailing and an opportunity to ride a wave of good feeling to a second glorious mayoral term. Given The Little Fella's penchant for perpetual foul-ups, the real outcome would most likely be far different. But people may be so desperate for peace that they will ignore Martin's lawbreaking and complete incompetence when casting their six votes for council.

We have to be careful not to base our predictions solely on the comments we heard from Martin's hillbilly lynch mob who attended last Friday's meeting. Many of those people have clearly taken a huge gulp of Martin's Kool-Aid. Our reporter was amazed when a couple of old biddies blamed everybody but Martin for The Little Man from Norwood's troubles. They went on to tearfully recount how Shorty "left church to help someone with a plumbing issue". The old crones missed the point that Martin is not licensed to do plumbing work. He shouldn't be doing plumbing or electrical work in anyone's residence even if he doesn't charge them a penny.

The Martin Chronicles advises the people who believe the law does matter not to panic. The incumbents who believe even a mayor should follow State statutes should not be discouraged by the admittedly far more vocal Martinites.

Get to the truth. Go out and campaign. If the voters decide that laws and statutes no longer matter, you have still done the correct thing. And, Villa Hills will once again be saddled with the corrupt and incompetent government it truly deserves.

Charges Preferred Tonight

The Martin Chronicles hopes everyone is fully prepared for tonight. Yes, we know that the 9 charges have been drafted against Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Martin. We also know that the majority of City Council gave proper legal  notice for tonight's meeting. We anticipate that there will be a quorum for tonight's meeting. We understand that the Telecommunications Board of Northern Kentucky will be on hand to provide television coverage.

But those things aren't what we mean by "fully prepared". We hope City Council completely understands who they are dealing with in Martin. Shorty has spent a life time talking himself out of one jam after another. He has no compunction about serial lying. In fact, it is his one discernible "talent".

He has also woven together a loyal band of supporters who may go to great lengths tonight to disrupt the meeting. The Civic Club is only a stone's throw away from where the meeting will be held, after all. Even the drunkest of vine-swingers should be able to navigate over to the Council chambers to shoot his mouth off.

Council should prepare for loud and rude Martinites wearing tee shirts and wielding signs. They should not misinterpret such an attempt to intimidate as universal support for The Little Man From Norwood however. If they truly believe that Martin is guilty of misconduct and neglect of duty they need to put the facts before the public. In fact, the public deserves nothing less.

We are truly concerned for peoples' safety. There will be some real lunatics in attendance. We hope there is a police presence at tonight's meeting. Not to intimidate, but to protect the safety of everyone there.

Look, some people seem to thrive on chaos. Martin is a classic example of that kind of ne'er-do-well. So are many of his followers who will look for representatives of the media to make outrageous-and baseless-comments to tonight. So be it.

Other people whine about Martin being picked upon and not being given a chance to work his way through some fantasy called a "learning curve". Martin himself tried to foist that fable on the public with his April "Note To Villa Hills Residents". Virtually every claim Martin made in that letter has been subsequently proven a LIE.

There is another problem with the "learning curve" argument. A review of the charges against Martin reveal that he has "learned" nothing. He has repeatedly violated the same State statutes. Even after his initial violations were brought to his attention. A reasonable person could wonder if Martin believes the law does not apply to him.

The Martin Chronicles also freely admits that we don't understand why some people view the mismanaging Martin as a "sympathetic character". Mostly because he has been proven time and time again to be virtually allergic to the truth. And we don't much care for LIARS. But we aren't in the business of trying to discern why other people believe what they believe. We simply recognize it and move on.

Martin has been quoted bemoaning the fact that "the council is going to drag him, his family and the City through the mud". If presenting THE TRUTH about Martin's misbehavior is the equivalent of dragging Martin, his family and the City through the mud, Shorty has some real soul-searching to do.

No More Delay

The Martin Chronicles correctly predicted that Villa Hills Mayor Mike Martin's procedural stunt would temporarily delay the preferring of charges against him. The key word, temporarily.

There was a very brief meeting last evening allowing the mismanaging Martin to pass the largest property tax increase allowed by State Statute on the backs of Villa Hills homeowners. While we didn't put a stopwatch on it, we think the meeting lasted less than five minutes. As soon as Martin got his tax increase, council moved 5-0 to adjourn the meeting.

What happened next? Council gave notice that they intend to hold a meeting this Friday evening for the purpose of preferring charges against the malfeasant Martin. We applaud council for taking the time to do it right. Sources tell us that the charges are extensive.

On the condition of anonymity, sources also tell us that the mendacious Martin was livid about having to deal with the consequences of his misconduct. As one witness put it, "Martin looked like he was going to have a stroke. I thought for sure that he was going to throw a punch at one of the Councilmen". Too bad he didn't. The story would be finished.

The Little Fella's spin to the media? He told reporters that he didn't understand why City Council was "wasting so much money when they know they don't have the votes to remove me". Oh, really? Is that a fact? How does Shorty know that?

We certainly hope every Council member, including those who are preferring the charges, go in to the removal hearing with an open mind. One of the basic tenets of our freedom is that we are all considered innocent until proven guilty. Martin-and more importantly the taxpayers-deserve a fair and thorough review of the evidence supporting each charge. The time has come for the truth to be told.

Our prediction? If last night was a precursor, the misleading Martin will rally his dwindling hillbilly lynch mob yet again. A ham-handed attempt will be made by the hand-wringers and vine-swingers to get City Council to back down. We'll hear the same old "witch hunt" routine. Council should remember that this attempt is being made by people who either have their snouts in the taxpayer trough or have been beneficiaries of Martin's "shoddy at best"-and unlicensed-electrical work. Take their protests for what they are worth and move on.

[PUBLISHER'S NOTE: Much like the Villa Hills Police Department, The Martin Chronicles is planning to work a whole lot of overtime covering this breaking story. We are excited about the huge spike in readership that has been generated by interest in Martin's misbehavior. In fact, we will soon be hosting our 60,000th unique visit. Not bad. Not bad at all.]

Posted With My Approval

The Martin Chronicles likens the scandal-plagued Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin's corrupt administration to a very busy airport. As soon as one disgrace flies off (only to circle back in for a crash landing soon after), three new outrages come in for a landing.

So what is going on now? Well, for many days media outlets have been reporting that the agenda for tonight's Villa Hills special meeting includes the largest tax hike allowed by State statute, an executive session and a vote to schedule a removal hearing for the miscreant Martin. Oh yeah, and adjournment.

We know you are waiting. Just hold on. So Martin sends out an email to council yesterday at 6:14pm. It reads:

The Agenda for tomorrow nights special meeting was posted with my approval.

Attached please find a copy of the approved and posted agenda.

Notoriously absent from the agenda that the Little Man From Norwood approved? You guessed it. The executive session and the vote to schedule a removal hearing. Well isn't that something? It calls to mind Richard Nixon's famous "Midnight Massacre" when the soon-to-be-former President fired all the Justice Department people who were investigating the Watergate break-in. Wow!

Sources tell us that council members were understandably outraged by Martin's brazen abuse of power. One of our reporters went to the City Building late last evening and saw two different agendas posted on the door. One with the executive session and vote to schedule a removal hearing. And then the one Martin changed. Again, Wow!

So why did Martin do it? There are a couple of theories being vetted as we write.

First, Martin made a Machiavellian, calculated move to enrage the City Council on purpose. Why would Shorty do that? To show all the hand-wringers and vine-swingers just how mean and nasty those council guys have been to the mendacious Little CEO. Our publisher sees a major flaw in that theory. Martin is just too plain STUPID to come up with such a plan.

More likely, Martin took this wanton step because of the judge's recent ruling that stripped Mr. Shoddy-At-Best of taxpayer-funded legal representation. So, the Little Fella is desperately trying to run out the clock while he awaits the election of:
  1. Co-defendant in a LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION lawsuit Dale Schaber
  2. Author of the 1990's Steve Clark era, Mary Koenig
  3. Bitter critic of the police department Holly B. Isenhour-Menninger and,
  4. Unrepentent Martinite Brian Wischer.
So what will happen tonight? Will Martin's shocking abuse of power pay off for him? Will council move ahead with the original plan that was agreed to? Who knows? It's Mike Martin's Villa Hills, after all!

But we do know this. It will sure be fun to watch!

Fireworks Encore?

The Martin Chronicles' entire staff enjoyed Sunday's soggy fireworks show on the river. But we don't think the fireworks are over. Why? Sources are telling us that more fireworks may be on the way in that embattled and embarrassed town along river, Mayor Martin's Villa Hills.

It's bad enough that Martin is holding a meeting designed to raise every home owner's property taxes. It's even worse that Martin's (mis)conduct has been so outrageous over the last two years that council may decide to move forward, preferring charges and scheduling a removal hearing.

Nothing is for certain. Circumstances could cause a change in direction. Martin may have some other stunt up his sleeve. We won't know what will happen until it actually happens.

There will certainly be that core of Martin support who continues to blame City Council for the turmoil. There is no point wasting any more time trying to figure out that way of thinking. It is what it is. It exist for a variety of reasons.

If the council does indeed decide to move ahead on Wednesday, it will ultimately be a good thing. Even for those who think Martin is nothing more than a victim. The public will be shown the facts. Martin will have his "day in court". Then perhaps everyone can move on.

But somehow we doubt that.

Breaking News: I Thought She Resigned!

The Martin Chronicles staff is sitting in our publisher's breakfast nook reviewing some photographic evidence. What we have here is proof that $47.50 per hour snout-in-the-taxpayer-trough, non-contract-non-employee, wife of Martin crony council candidate, clerk/bookkeeper Cordelia Schaber continues to go into the Villa Hills City Building after hours alone.

How is she getting in? People who have been observing conclude she must still have her own key. This despite her now-obviously false claim to have resigned last November. The problem? Isn't the City Building the center of the Martin document destruction catastrophe? Will Martin claim Schaber is responsible if the interim City Clerk declines to fall on her own sword?

Schaber knows she was in the City Building alone on Monday, August 27 at 8pm. What she didn't know until now is that we know she was there. And now so do you.

Still Not Used To It

The Martin Chronicles is still amazed by the incredible LIES Villa Hills malfeasant Mayor Mike Martin is able to concoct. Even after all of the LIES The Little CEO has told. One would think we would become desensitized. But we have not.

Martin was given a direct, stern rebuke from Judge Patricia Summe on April 26 regarding his now infamous January 5 "Records Barbecue". Summe told Martin that he had already done great harm to the residents of Villa Hills resulting from his wanton, reckless acts. She warned him not to destroy any more records.

Judge Summe's warning was not qualified. She didn't say, ". . . unless you think you have to." She didn't say, ". . . but it is okay for your interim City Clerk to bring her own personal documents in to cast an even darker cloud over the City's position in a very serious lawsuit". No. Judge Summe's warning was direct, crystal clear and absolute.

But we now see what has been happening. According to statements provided by two witnesses, Martin walked out of that courtroom last April and went right back to his document destruction. As one witness stated, the document shredding has never stopped. Martin ignored the judge. Martin ignored the City Attorney. Martin ignored the City's insurance company. Why? Well, he is "The CEO", after all.

And what of the interim City Clerk? There are three possibilities.
  1. She did violate ethics ordinances by using City equipment for personal reasons.
  2. She is lying in an attempt to provide cover for the man who has given her two taxpayer-funded pay raises in the last four months.
  3. She is being played the fool by Martin. Perhaps she is unaware that Martin mixed shredded City records in with the scraps of her outdated Atkin's Diet recipes.

Whatever is correct, her taxpayer-funded tenure with the City of Villa Hills should end today.

What is Martin's excuse? The Little Man From Norwood claims he wasn't even in the City Building. Despite what the statements provided by far more credible witnesses reveal. Who are we to believe? Certainly not Martin.

Sources tell us that Martin was asked to provide his own statement regarding what took place. He declined to do so on the advice of his attorney. Now he maintains that he will provide a statement as soon as his attorney has thoroughly reviewed it.

Will you just think about that for a moment? If you know in your heart you have done nothing wrong wouldn't you immediately and forcefully tell the truth? Or, would you waste taxpayer money having your attorney review your statement?

The answer is quite clear.
